Biden didn't debate any of his opponents in the primary either, so why should have Trump?

Further, in order to participate in the GOP debates, Trump would have had to promise to support the eventual winner, and for a lot of the candidates in the race, he just couldn't do that in good conscience. Trump has what they call "integrity".

Lastly, Trump realized that his presence on the Debate stage would have been a huge ratings boost for the promoters. They were unwilling to compensate him for this, so why give them unjust enrichment.
