Trump expected to announce 'framework' to cut health costs

For the record I posted on this topic days ago. Independent thinker said something like "I dont buy it as truth as it came from GP".

Always first, at least 98% accurate. Sometimes in a rush, headlines can contain mistakes I suppose. Such as calling an "illegal" without proof. Be careful.
The Gateway Pundit is about 80% fake news. They just make shit up for those who don't require any proof of anything and twist the facts to make them come out the way they want them to. They are on about the same level as MSNBC or whatever you call them now.

Everday since 04NOV2020 and what I see always cones true or is already true. I dont read all stories. Only scan the ones of interest. Once in a while I see a mistake or a stretch but never any lies.

They were on Election Fraud every day in 21-22. BB or Yahoo or all of them would ban to for mentioning it.

Youre a good poster but could not be this wrong without motive? As bad as a Stain? WTH? I'm out//

GP is sensationalist "news" for the right-leaning much as the Huffington Post is for left-leaners.

And yes while there may be a nugget of accuracy in the hyperbole somewhere in both it is often so hidden in said hyperbole to where any real value is lost.

You big shots might have a point bu I look at it. Always come true always tracks Twatter. Twatter is usually first but GP digs into the stories more. The same almost always show up here 4 days later with you grandfathers massaging it from FOX or other. This place is landlines compared to cellphone.

Well, if I put a dollar in a "Alex Jones Was Right" jar I'd have a tidy sum by now. ;)

Same deal though, hyperbole coating a nugget of truth.

Pretty silly to tout giving $30B to people to give to insurance companies vs $30B to insurance companies on people's behalf. The market place ACA negotiates lower overall prices due to insuring people with pre-existing conditions who will see the largest increases.

Trump is trying to save face now that he caused the premiums to spike... just like the Democrats said.

No I think it's great.

They can put $2000 Trump Bucks into my HSA.

That frees up cash for me to by Lobster and Ribeye steaks like those on SNAP (who receive, on average $6.23 per day).

HSA is a rich person tax shelter. I max it out every year. Its tax free going in and tax free coming out. Easy way to save a few thousand in taxes. $8,750 is max which saves you $3,000 in taxes. Once I get to 55 then it goes up $1,000. In 10 years it will be a $20,000 amount and the growth is tax free saving me another $2,000 in taxes for capital gains. So I save $5,000 in taxes on a one time investment of $9,000. whoo hoo.

My last Kidney Stone trip to the ER coast $21,000.

I disagree. I have one and I’m certainly not rich.

And I use it to buy specific supplies each year. Its one of the best ideas we’ve come up with. One of the worst ideas the OP came up with is that you can use it to pay for heart surgery. Of course he admits to shopping for dinner at a flea market and pretends he has an AO to patrol so it’s little shock that he thinks he can save his way to paying for a quadruple bypass.
I get your challenge objecting to me framing it as for the rich. I should have said rich and upper income families.

The average income family income is $83K. Those people arent maxing out 401k and HSAs. That would be putting away 30% of their gross income and about $40% of their total income. Those using it meaningfully are the top 10-25% of people, not necessarily just the rich but the top.

HSA can only be used for medical. Somewhat of a safeguard. The card wont pay for Vodka

Make it so billers can pull what is owed, if available. Keep garnishment open.

Not quite accurate, there are many things an HSA can be used for that are not normal medical expenses covered by insurance, such as:

  • Over the counter medications,
  • Menstrual products,
  • Breastfeeding supplies,
  • Birth Control (Condoms, The Pill, Morning After Pill, etc.)
  • Travel Expenses when for medical care. (So I can make an appointment with a Dr. in Orlando, use the HSA for travel - and while I'm there spend a few days at Universal Orlando. A win-win.)

Oh - and the card won't pay for Vodka, but it will free up cash that I can use to buy Vodka.

The proposal, known as the “Healthcare Price Cuts Act,” seeks to prevent spikes in ACA premiums, affecting nearly 22 million Americans as subsidies approach their expiration at the end of the year.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson are expected to be briefed on the plan, the report said. The Republican-led initiative introduces measures aimed at curbing “surprise premium hikes” and eliminating “zero-premium” subsidies to counter alleged fraudulent enrollments.

Additionally, the proposal includes a deposit program meant to encourage lower-premium options on the ACA exchange, redirecting savings into taxpayer-funded Health Savings Accounts.

Health Savings Accounts is a great option and takes power away from health insurance companies. This would allow more ‘concierge medicine’ thus controlling costs.

If, if Trump can pull this off this will be a big deal.

Healthcare cost is a weapon wielded by the dems. If the Republicans can make an actual improvement to the current mess that is the health insurance industry, then it will certainly help push the “undecided crowd” further right.

Glad to see him working to fix the Dem healtcare crisis

We could do like Canada does and kill all the old and sick people.
