Trump expected to announce 'framework' to cut health costs

Please. Go find someone to bother. You just posted that long debunked Walmart article where they replaced a Thanksgiving meal with a microwave dinner and a lump of coal. Hilarious.

Try reading again.

Turkey is at the lowest it’s been since 2019

I’ve read your deflection of reality

Side question, if you please. Right now, what are the options for a single adult who needs a hip replacement in the next few months, and has lost his insurance due to divorce? Can he just go out to Bob's Health Insurance Company (licensed in his home state), and ask for a quote? Separate from the ACA "exchange"? I don't understand and my son is that hypothetical human. What is the range of premiums for low-ball insurance vs. Cadillac insurance. Single adult male, 43 years old.

Serious answer.

He can go to any insurance broker or look online for quotes.

Non-ACA policies can exclude pre-existing conditions, charge a higher premium, and/or apply an exclusionary period (90 days, 6 months, etc.) then plans on the exchange.

Maybe going with an ACA plan for a year?

From what I'm hearing ... Trump doesn't really have a plan so he's pondering the idea of extending the Obamacare subsidies. Why am I not surprised?

Yes.

That...I don’t know. I was just talking about our billing. It’s risen each and every year since I’ve been here. Nothing has “skyrocketed” on our end.

If it works out, great, but Trump has had a plan for what? 9-10 years now?
He might have been working on it that long.

You know....thinking about it?

Something your side sucks at.

Letting people know about the truth about nutritional sulfur, methyl suphonyl methane could perhaps save the USA billions.

Doctors aren't allowed to tell their patients about substances that are by definition "food" but they have obvious health benefits.

I remember Michelle Obama being slammed for trying to get people to eat healthier.

But there is far more to the topic. I think it was naturopathic doctor Joel Wallach who discovered that in all the areas of the earth where exceptional longevity and health into old age are reported, there was often eighty or more trace minerals in the soil or in the water [but your doctor is not allowed to tell you about that]!

I guess pink Himalayan salt is one of the easiest way to get lots of trace minerals.

Two documentaries, [at least], were done on Dr. Stanislav Burzynski's anti-neoplastons treatments for cancer. A high ranking official from the Obama administration went to visit Dr. Burzynski and he admitted that he loved to whole idea but then he admitted that he could not publicly support Dr. Burzynski, because Wall Street could not afford another 2008]. Is it just my imagination or does that remind you too of a certain high ranking Dem?

To be clear, my statement was simply posted to note hypocrisy. There are many areas where we could do far better but we are led by imbeciles.

All unaffordable to millions.
And Republicans will pay dearly for that next November. Once Democrats take the majorities in both houses then Trump's short reign will effectively be over and IF he isn't impeached and convicted this time he'll just be another loud mouth on Truth Social that nobody pays attention to anymore.
At that point Democrats can REALLY get to work reforming our healthcare system and reversing the damage Republicans are doing this year.

Sure, if you start when you are in your twenties. By the time you are fifty you have tens of thousands of dollars, invested even, that you have never paid taxes on either the initial investment or the realized gains, and you can spend that money, tax free, for health care costs. It is like having a personal debit card just for health care costs, because you do.

My wife had an auto accident a couple years ago. Spent 7 days in the hospital, lost her spleen and part of her colon.

Just the 7 days in the hospital was $122,000. That does not include the two surgeries or the time spent in the ER.

How long does one have to save $780 a month to pay for all that?

I'll be happy to see Trump nuetered but sadly it will do nothing to fix our health care issues.

Funding continued industry profits through more debt is not the answer.

I agree but I believe what needs to be neutered is big pharma and the insurance industry. Healthcare should not be a for profit industry.

156.41 months.

Hope your wife is doing OK.

The proposal, known as the “Healthcare Price Cuts Act,” seeks to prevent spikes in ACA premiums, affecting nearly 22 million Americans as subsidies approach their expiration at the end of the year.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson are expected to be briefed on the plan, the report said. The Republican-led initiative introduces measures aimed at curbing “surprise premium hikes” and eliminating “zero-premium” subsidies to counter alleged fraudulent enrollments.

Additionally, the proposal includes a deposit program meant to encourage lower-premium options on the ACA exchange, redirecting savings into taxpayer-funded Health Savings Accounts.

Health Savings Accounts is a great option and takes power away from health insurance companies. This would allow more ‘concierge medicine’ thus controlling costs.

If, if Trump can pull this off this will be a big deal.

Healthcare cost is a weapon wielded by the dems. If the Republicans can make an actual improvement to the current mess that is the health insurance industry, then it will certainly help push the “undecided crowd” further right.

How many years will that take ? After everyone that needs it dies probably.
