It's more than that. Most of the world's tankers are coming to the Gulf of America to buy oil.

Let's put it this way, ALL the nation's that export oil through the Strait of Hormuz are not easy to work with or deal with....and it's always a painstaking process to try to appease them all as most former Presidents and diplomats will attest. (Most getting $$ millions after they leave office)

So....in classic Trump fashion (he becomes a bully when frustrated) he closed the Strait and is making everyone buy American oil at WTI prices instead of the cheap prices for illegal oil they were paying. Brent prices are usually artificially high....but WTI tends to be better quality for less. However some of the world's refineries have more trouble refining WTI petroleum products than Brent. But conversion is not difficult. Currently there is a BUNCH of money coming into USA because we can produce as much oil as all of OPEC. 5MBPD is not exactly a small amount. With capacity for more.

Iran isn't the only source of petroleum products through the Strait. And its not just Iran that's being difficult to work with.

The Saudis have a pipeline that connects to a different body of water. So they won't have to stop or even slow down selling oil whatsoever.

And as far as Iran's negotiations and war footing?
They are as honest as a pedophile in a daycare. Until the Persians are in charge (new Government) I won't believe a thing.

2M X 120 is 240M barrels of oil that....you actually believe....is going to (or was already) extracted and put onto these mystery tankers.

The US typically exports 4M barrels of oil a day.

So That would mean that the whole total of what America produces--2 months--will be exported (4M into 240M); AND THIS IS ALREADY ON TOP OF WHAT IS ALREADY UNDER CONTRACT TO BE PRODUCED AND DELIVERED. Clearly whoever fed you this line of bullshit had someone with a willing appetite for said bullshit. That you consumed it and published it here is tantamount to Trumpism...say the most outrageous thing to make people feel good and when it doesn't come true...backtrack--as you're about to do!

It takes about 2-weeks to transit from Hormuz to get to the Gulf of America, so that means about 10 tankers a day will enter various US ports to get oil. Houston, Corpus Christi, and Louisiana can all load oil tankers. So if they can add ~3 tankers a day each it works. I'm sure the tankers and oil terminals have people who know wtf they are doing.

The more oil we export into the global oil supply the cheaper oil gets. Yes that lower the gas price.
