YesI don’t agree that cherry picking who gets called is more accurate than completely random calling. What good does a poll that intentionally asks 50% Democrats and 50% Republicans do?Why would they do that?how about for a CHANGE there was some Polling were they Polled 50% Democrats AND 50% Republicans.
Well logic dictates if you are doing a Poll and you Poll 50% Democrats and 42% Republicans then your Poll is going to show a LEAD for the Democrat, alternatively IF you do a Poll that has 50% Republicans and 42% Democrats then your Poll is going to show a lead for the Republican.
What other result would you expect than a tie?
The key is you ask 1000 people AT RANDOM without asking political alliance. Then you ask affiliation.
You can’t assume the population is 50/50
You people do realize polling can use public voter registration where people identify party affiliation...they don't just open the phone book and start dialing. Polling can easily be manipulated based on who they call and location of residents.
Why would you conduct a poll that is 50% one side, 50% the other?
What result would you expect?
I didn't suggest they should. I was just explaining polling has the ability to be more accurate then calling people at random. They also have the ability to manipulate results based on location of who they call.
When they are only calling 1000 people to gauge the direction of and entire state, they should have a responsibility to be a little more accurate. With all the information on people do you honestly thinking polling companies are calling people at random?
Why call someone when you already know their views?
