No, I mean, if Trump does not find some way to stop the sentencing hearing, at a minimum it is going to hurt his chances of election regardless of the sentence. However if the judge sentences him to a suspended sentence of 2 years in prison, with 2 years probation that will create a lot of problems and raise the question with voters, do you really want to elect a convicted felon to lead the country?

How can he? The same people that brought the persecution are the very same people that allowed a mental incompetent (even his own DOJ said he was) to continue as a presidential candidate through the Primaries. This same group is installing Harris who knew for better than 2 years that the Man carrying the Nuclear football, something that could destroy every living thing on this planet, was mentally unfit to perform his duties.

Both DNC and RNC have rules to cover situations in which the winning candidate of a primary withdrawals from the nomination process. Since there is not enough time to hold 50 new state primaries, the state committee or caucus are given 7 days to decide on a replacement. The replacement gets all the delegate votes pledged to the candidate that has withdrawal from the nomination. This is exactly what would have happen if Trump had withdrew his name from nomination in 2020.

The idea that state delegates are always bound by the primary vote is not true. State delegates are freed after the 1st ballot or if candidate has withdrawal from nomination.

In case of a sitting president who withdraws and endorsees his VP, the party selection of the replacement is a forgone conclusion because the hundreds of millions of dollars collected for the campaign goes only to the candidate names listed with the Federal Election Commission in this case, Biden or Harris. Had the party nominated anyone else getting access to those funds would become an issues that could last for months. As one would expect the committees switched Biden's delegates to Harris.
