Hundreds of times during his campaign, and again after the announcement that he had won the election, Trump has promised that he will lower inflation, "Donald Trump, U.S. President-Elect: I went on groceries. It's a very simple word, groceries. Like almost, you know, who uses the word? I started using the word, the groceries. When you buy apples, when you buy bacon, when you buy eggs, they would double and triple the price over a short period of time. And I won an election based on that. We're going to bring those prices way down".

Three days ago in an interview, he started to backpedal on that promise:

What's behind Trump's backpedaling on his promises to lower prices

After making inflation and the cost of groceries part of his campaign, President-elect Trump is starting to walk back some of his promises to lower prices.

My question on this OP is as follows:

"Will you be forgiving, excusing, or angry at Trump for not keeping his promise?"
Bidenflation and yes it will be difficult to undo the DAMAGE that this inept, corrupt "president" put us through for 4 years.

1. I see no quote from Trump, just some leftist hack claiming he said something.

2. Saying bringing down prices is hard is in now way saying he can't, Simp.

THREAD FAIL!

I'd like to start a poll for Biden supporters.

When inflation hit 9% under Biden, how did you react?

1. Forgave him
2. Excuse him
3. Be angry at him
4. Blamed Trump
4. None of the above.

Should I do it?

post his statement on a video.

His entire "we will drill baby drill", was too simple an answer though it would work to a certain degree without question. You have to be confident that the price of gas will go down though. Trump has a way of demanding and world leaders responding.

The concern now must be, are they looking to use DOGE to decrease government costs just so enable Trump the ability to spend like a drunken sailor as governments normally do? I hope not, I really do hope not.

He could be a truly transformation and generational president if he cuts government spending and your deficit and debt. THAT is the best way to decrease inflation.

If he is saying "it's difficult to decrease it", it signals to me that he is just going to spend on different boondoggles.

Costs need to be cut as Milei succeeded in doing in Argentina. He dropped the monthly inflation rate from 25% to 2% in a year! It can be done, but you need leadership with courage. If you don't get your debt under control, China is going to win.
cutting spending is cutting spending, and is helpful toward the debt. Didn't they teach anything? Also, deporting illegals will bolster money flow.

Well, cutting $1T in labour costs only to spend $750B in corporate hand outs or some other boondoggles that replaces it, defeats the point.

If Trump can leave office and say, the U.S debt down to $32T from it's current $36T, he would set a major precedent. Furthermore, if would help the next GOP candidate to try and win and do similar.

Couple that with say 3-5% growth per year and within 8 years, the U.S would be in far better fiscal shape.

Bidenflation and yes it will be difficult to undo the DAMAGE that this inept, corrupt "president" put us through for 4 years.
so what does that mean to you if Trumps fails to keep/fulfill the repeated promises that he WILL BRING INFLATION DOWN if elected? Will you forgive, excuse or be angry at him for making promises he was unable to keep?

NOW he is being honest. He was NOT honest, during his run and campaign...

And no, trump can't lower the price of fuel much lower than Biden has done already, because then our oil producers in the north etc, would not be profitable, and would lower production....reducing oil on the market....to raise prices again.
Make up your mind, Care. You on the left complain when Big Oil makes too much in profits...then you complain that they're not going to make enough? Reducing the price of oil not only lowers energy costs...which is good for inflation but it takes money out of the pockets of the Mullahs in Iran and Putin in Russia...both a benefit for the entire world.

Biden didn't to anything to lower energy prices. He did however put Billions of dollars into the coffers of Iran and Russia...money that was spent to invade Ukraine and finance terror attacks. Trump did the opposite of that.

The President doesn't control the output of oil to the point that the industry doesn't make money.
Maybe Trump should have International energy expert Hunter serve as his advisor?

Contumacious Fake News thread? What is fake about it. Trump made his promise repeatedly and has now started to back off that promise. It is on video and it is public knowledge. What is fake about that?

True.

Including the fact that presidents have no control over costs and prices – if prices are high it’s the consequence of corporate greed and gouging.
So there wasn't corporate "greed and gouging" during Trump's first term? Trump never had an inflation rate over 2%. Corporations only got greedy and started gouging when Joe Biden took office? Is that what you're claiming, Clayton? LOL Come on...use your head!

No, Trump isn't in the video liar.

STUPID and Ignorant Dingleberries like "UNlucky one" continue to spread disinformation .

ANY inflationary event caused by the illegitimate demented woke SOB BuyTHem will take up to TWO YEARS to materialize. Joe BuyTHem and the Mitch McConnell warmonger neocrazy camp continue to inflate the currency in order to prosecute the brain dead Ukranian Proxy War - the inflationary event will surface somewhere in the 2026-2027 fiscal year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lowering prices (per the thread title) or lowering prices (per the op)?

so what does that mean to you if Trumps fails to keep/fulfill the repeated promises that he WILL BRING INFLATION DOWN if elected? Will you forgive, excuse or be angry at him for making promises he was unable to keep?
I'm going to at least wait for him to get started!

That's if you a-holes don't try to impeach him again before he even gets into office. Remember 2017, Marxists like Mad Maxine Waters saying he should be impeached before he even took office?

"Trump hasn't kept his promise to reduce inflation."

He's not president yet, Gomer.
The thread at no time talks about keeping or not keeping the promise. The thread is about him saying he will bring down inflation and now backpedaling on those words. This is not about actual actions done or not done, it is about promises made to win the election and now no longer making that promise.

Why use certainty words when there is no certainty? Answer that question, which is what the OP asks!
