trump calls Olympic skier a "real loser"

When the vice president is booed on the world stage, there is something wrong with the direction of the country.
Please explain the logic of that one.

We are on top.

Not on the bottom.

What are they booing about? And why should we care?

I've never understood why people care so much about what athletes and celebrities think about politics.

"Hey, you're an excellent skier. What are your thoughts on the state of world?"

The skier is better qualified to comment than you current President. Although his projection of "total loser" is a true reflection of Trump, not the skier.

When assholes like Trump fling insults, they project what they hate most about themselves onto the object of their hate. Trump is a "total loser" and always has been. Why you keep electing this clown is completely beyond the rest of the world. We know a creep when we see and hear one.

Again, you have a grasp of the problem, but that is not all that is required to actually fix it.
So, you can either sit down, be complacent making an excuse, or stand up and meet the challenge.

I would not try to fool you and suggest that's going to be easy.

Teaching your children how to avoid the conflict, when possible, and keep their bearings as their responsibility without worrying about everyone else, might be more effective in getting them where they need to go. Simply making sure they only understand that everything in this world is unsurmountable, because you really cannot save the entire world, probably isn't going to do them much good. :auiqs.jpg:
I dont think its going to be fixed

You are nowhere near the top, and Trump is taking you lower than ever. Since Trump was elected the first time, you've dropped out of the top 20 countries to live in and are now struggling to remain in the top 30.

You're going down in health care, life expectancy, income and wealth gaps, and foreign companies are pulling out of the USA because of political instability, and your failure to abide by Agreements and Treaties you've signed.

Trump is setting up your nation to fail, just like he sets up every company he owns to fail, because that's what Trump does - he's a loser.

You can give up and see where that gets you, but I am going to try and figure something out, at least as far those I care about are concerned. Might mean that I may have to do a few things on my own, and I ain't scared even though I may fail a few times.

My parents might have gone a little overboard, but they taught me to be independent and fight for I want, and that if I get knocked down, to just get the **** back up and make a better plan. They really weren't that interested in excuses, and doing otherwise wasn't really an option.

I will continue bailing water, but hold no illusions about saving the ship

Build a better and smaller boat, then stop wasting your time trying to bail the Titanic out of sinking.
Which is kind of what I have been saying the whole time, and I understand you. :auiqs.jpg:

You come off as a very angry person.

I didn't vote for Trump. Lol

”Just because I'm wearing the flag doesn't mean I represent everything that's going on in the U.S,” he added.

The Bend, Oregon, native went on to say that he was instead representing “all the things I believe are good about the U.S.”

In response to those words, Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday morning, “U.S. Olympic Skier, Hunter Hess, a real Loser, says he doesn’t represent his Country in the current Winter Olympics. If that’s the case, he shouldn’t have tried out for the Team, and it’s too bad he’s on it. Very hard to root for someone like this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The country is in a sad position. When the vice president is booed on the world stage, there is something wrong with the direction of the country. More athletes need to speak out about the atrocities occurring in this country. The US is no longer a shining beacon on democracy, with the present leadership/

The loser 47.

The loser 47.
As a Christian, I cannot understand how so many, supposedly devote, evangelicals can swoon over a foul mouth, vicious, totally immoral, human being… who cannot even admit he has ever made a mistake to ask forgiveness for. It is like they removed all the red letter verses in the Bible.

The ship was lost when Reagan was elected. Republicans have destroyed the US economy, and killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

You've become a government of the wealthy, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy. The rest of the population can pound salt as far as Republicans are concerned.

The loser 47.

While yet another Olympian and this time gold medal winner, US figure skater Amber Glenn steps away from social media after her comments on politics result in backlash. and chooses to leave Milan, training elsewhere before her upcoming competition in the singles event.

She decided to take a day off and "got the hell out of Dodge" as they say, when it wasn't going to get any better for her.
There's also an issue with the fact she did not request permission from the copyright holder in regard to the song she used in her routine, although I am not sure what that will amount to.

The US is approaching the Russian model of government, where the oligarchs rule. They own the leaders. They own the media. They own the social media platforms. They then control the message.

And the middle and lower class, less educated, stand back and let them have their way. The wealthy look out for the wealthy.

"Approaching" my ass, you sorry fuckers are doing the best you can to create a Ruling Class on Capitol Hill and have been successful in doing so for a while.

The only conflict you can find is who controls the message, when obviously you really don't give a **** about the people at all, and would rather they surrender their power in their states and communities, to the oligarchs and assclowns you send to the Beltway.

Then you run around like retards screaming about "No Kings" when everything you support is what has created the Establishment, and the aristocracy you would rather pretend you are against. :auiqs.jpg:

You come off as someone who has no clue. I am not in any way an "angry person". That would be YOU projecting your anger onto others.

It doesn't matter whether you voted for him or not. You're tolerating his lawlessness and his hate. The time is long past where you can make the claim that he's not YOUR fault because you didn't vote for him.

Instead of blaming others for the mess you've made, start looking for solutions to the problems Trump creates. Start demanding Congress do its job of oversight and rein in your criminal President.

It's no accident that his first term ended with race riots. Trump let the BLM demonstrations go unchecked in 2020, because he believed it made people more like to vote for him. Now he's STARTING the race riots, because he thinks that the American people don't blame him for the trouble. He blamed the states.

This time, Trump is actually inciting the the demonstrations and hate. And you're cheering him on.

What your reply shows isn’t calm analysis. It’s emotionally loaded rhetoric. The language is saturated with moral condemnation and high arousal framing “assholes” “clown” “creep” “criminal president” “race riots” “hate”, plus sweeping judgments and mind reading about motives. Whether you feel angry or not is beside the point. The emotional content of the text itself is doing the work here.

More importantly, you’re not actually responding to me. You’ve assigned me responsibility for things I explicitly didn’t do. None of that follows from anything I said. That’s not debate. You’re arguing with a symbolic “Trump supporter” avatar instead of my actual position. At that point the conversation stops being about ideas and turns into projection onto a constructed target.

You seem a bit unhinged.

Skaters are not required to request copyright permission for use of their music. ASCAP has an overall rights agreement with the USFSA, and other figure skating associations, which covers the use of music by the athletes, so that athletes are compensated for their use of their music via said Agreements.

My daughter was a competitive figure skater, and one of our friends cut music for programs. I was working for an intellectual property lawyer at the time, and enquired about getting permission for the music. Also, it is up to the broadcaster of live programs to ensure that the rights to the use of all of the music for live events, are in place before the event.

Every Friday was spent getting these clearances sorted out for the weekend broadcasts during awards season, but we never had to clear figure skating competitions, because agreements were in place for use of the music.

When I saw the thread title, I assumed at first that the skier Trump was calling a loser was that woman who broke her leg

Would’ve been completely in character for him
