This is not 1968. We were still arising nation then. A can-do nation. A lower tax nation. A lot of room for the agendas and programs we see today. It is more difficult to add more programs and agendas because we are a high tax nation now. We see where we are falling behind.Remember the black Athletes in 1968 with their Black Panther gloved arm salutes .
Denigrated then but later rightly respected and seen as brave and thoughtful people .
Depends on your conscience and how much respect you want to feel for yourself .
Americans are threatening to boycott the Winter Olympics after some Team USA members expressed “mixed emotions” about representing the Stars and Stripes.
Freestyle skier Hunter Hess ignited the firestorm Friday after telling reporters that wearing the American flag doesn’t mean he backs everything “going on” in the US.
“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now,” Hess said at a press conference ahead of competition.
Florida Rep. Byron Donalds blasted the athletes Saturday.
“YOU chose to wear our flag. YOU chose to represent our country. YOU chose to compete at the @Olympics,” Donalds (R-Fla.) wrote on X. “If that’s too hard for you, then GO HOME. Some things are bigger than politics. You just don’t get it.”
If they were handing out gold metals for jerks Hunter would stand center podium.
Part of the problem is once again the media asking these questions, provoking a response. The athletes should have the ball’s to ignore the question. What does it have to do with sports?

2024 Paris Olympics? Remember that disasterImagine some sort of international competition during the Biden Administration. What if some competitors were asked if they were comfortable representing the U.S. at that time?
What do you think?
You are alluding to rights or lack of them. And that is not debatable also as if you remove the money, as a percentage will collapse. Illegals is just an agenda now that should not exist. The authors of so many other agendas like the green energy scam.Wow
Are there some who disagree with that ?
But what has that got to do with the sentiment I expressed in the post you were responding to ?
Ones conscience is not limited timewise-- it does not blink into life at random moments and then randomly switch off .
Or maybe it does with this new mutant sub species . Particularly with the lowly American variant .
But we’re the Good Guys.We invade other countries as a policy.
They should all be dangling from Trump's scrotum with you!******* ingrate. These athletes are given tons of support, financial and training, from their country.
Sure, because the world would have shown the same "appreciation" for German athletes that had represented NAZI Germany in the 1936 Olympics, especially after 1945 - right? If it were me, I would have simply said, "I'm here to represent my country the best I can and hopefully bring home the gold. If you want to talk about politics, direct your question to a politician."
No conflict.
Over half feel the same way under Prog Socialist Communists. It is a shame our Olympic teams cannot come home with zero medals. The fun was taken out of the Olympics over a period of years. You have to see each individual and how they appreciate their performances now.Sure, because the world would have shown the same "appreciation" for German athletes that had represented NAZI Germany in the 1936 Olympics, especially after 1945 - right?
Since many people and sportsman do not believe that they "personally" represent a US Flag under MAGA run USA -aka are not in agreement with MAGA policies and way's of their enforcement, they certainly need and have a right to state that, especially in a Democracy, and maybe even decide not to run for MAGA USA, but for some other country (e.g. Canada) maybe even Greenland!.
The German athletes in 1936 didn't have that luxury - since they and family members would have ended up in prison and ruined their lives.
Did any US Olympic athletes speak up against the Biden admin? don't hesitate to let me knowImagine some sort of international competition during the Biden Administration. What if some competitors were asked if they were comfortable representing the U.S. at that time?

Never heard of US Olympic athletes, wanting to boycott the US flag, under any previous US administration.Over half feel the same way under Prog Socialist Communists.
