Americans are threatening to boycott the Winter Olympics after some Team USA members expressed “mixed emotions” about representing the Stars and Stripes.

Freestyle skier Hunter Hess ignited the firestorm Friday after telling reporters that wearing the American flag doesn’t mean he backs everything “going on” in the US.

“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now,” Hess said at a press conference ahead of competition.

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds blasted the athletes Saturday.

“YOU chose to wear our flag. YOU chose to represent our country. YOU chose to compete at the @Olympics,” Donalds (R-Fla.) wrote on X. “If that’s too hard for you, then GO HOME. Some things are bigger than politics. You just don’t get it.”

If they were handing out gold metals for jerks Hunter would stand center podium.
Part of the problem is once again the media asking these questions, provoking a response. The athletes should have the ball’s to ignore the question. What does it have to do with sports?

Maybe they can have "mixed emotions" about letting him back into the country, take a few days to come grips with it, and he can wait in the airport until they do.

We have a few American players on the Leafs. When reporters asked them about Trump and the booing guys like Matthews just toldi the media that they aren't involved in politics etc. Media stopped asking after that. The only reason someone responds like this is due to their personal beliefs, the world is still too political. It is not as bad as when athletes were insulting everyone when they were kneeling for the anthem etc, however, some still cannot help themselves.
