Court decides $454 was excessive? TDS warning issued

Trump Can Post Smaller Bond in Civil Fraud Case, Court Rules

The former president must post a bond of $175 million within 10 days as he appeals the $454 million judgment against him.

The ruling by a five-judge panel of appellate court judges is a crucial and unexpected victory for the former president, potentially staving off a looming financial disaster. Had the court denied his request — and had he failed to obtain the full bond — Mr. Trump was at risk of losing control over his bank accounts and, eventually, even some of his marquee properties.

I love it. Don't make it so much he can't or won't pay it. Get a reasonable amount

Judge Reduces Donald Trump's Bond In Civil Fraud Appeal To $175 Million

The former president was supposed to pay $465 million in bond by Monday. A judge has now agreed to give him 10 days to post $175 million.

Fox News agreed to pay Dominion $787.5 million and acknowledged the court's earlier ruling that Fox had broadcast false statements about Dominion. The settlement did not require Fox News to apologize. It is the largest known media settlement for defamation in U.S. history.

They need to reduce Rudy's so he will pay up.

How much is Rudy Giuliani worth? Giuliani's current net worth could be worth less than $50 million, based on his attorney's comment that the damages sought by Moss and Freeman would "be the end" of him.

Judge says Rudy Giuliani must pay $148 million judgment immediately.

Make it $45 million immediately.

Trump responds..... Engoron is in trouble!

"Judge Engoron has refused to obey the decision of the Appellate Division relative to the Statute of Limitations. This is a confrontation between a Judge and those that rule above him - A very bad situation in which to place New York State and the Rule of Law! Engoron has disrespected the Appellate Division and its very clear and precise ruling. He should be made to do so, and at the same time, release the GAG ORDER. This is the 5th time in this case that he has been overturned, a record. His credibility, and that of Letitia James, has been shattered."

"We will abide by the decision of the Appellate Division, and post either a bond, equivalent securities, or cash. This also shows how ridiculous and outrageous Engoron’s original decision was at $450 Million. I DID NOTHING WRONG, AND NEW YORK SHOULD NEVER BE PUT IN A POSITION LIKE THIS AGAIN. BUSINESSES ARE FLEEING, VIOLENT CRIME IS FLOURISHING, AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS BE RESOLVED IN ITS TOTALITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!”

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Do these words seem familiar? 8th Amendment? How about a FINE of half a billion dollars for a "crime" with no victims, and where the "victims" testified that they were happy with the crime and would happily enter into the same agreement again?

Seem excessive to you?

Aside from physical torture, execution, and endless solitary confinement, can you even imagine a more blatant example of an 8th Amendment violation?

The bond, not the judgement, which is still $450M

Actually, I'm a little disappointed. The optics of Democrats seizing his properties would guarantee his election in November and a lawsuit against New York for $5 Billion.

"Mr. Trump’s lawyers had asked the appeals court to either accept a smaller bond or pause the bond requirement altogether. They argued that the court would be likely to overturn the trial judge’s $454 million penalty once it heard the substance of his appeal, contending that it was “grossly disproportionate and unconstitutional.”"

The court did not find what you claim or infer -- "$454 was excessive."

Read what it was all about.
If this is a win -- taken out of full context -- then we're all laughing as we watch fools like you grasp at straws.
