WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump with his decision to order U.S. military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facility is gambling that direct U.S. involvement can deliver a decisive blow to a weakened Tehran while managing to avoid bringing the U.S. into an expansive regional conflict.
Trump announced the strikes on three Iranian enrichment facilities — Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan — and said that a “full payload of BOMBS was dropped” on Fordo.
“All planes are safely on their way home,” Trump added in his post. “Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the damage inflicted by the bombings.
Trump has vowed that he would not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon and he had initially hoped that the threat of force would motivate the country’s leaders to give up their nuclear program peacefully.

Trump decided that this was the time to stop talking and act.
What just occurred shows that Trump is serious.
I applaud his actions and I'm glad everyone has returned safely.
This strike should also make Kim Jong Un a little uneasy this morning,
I'm sure that the Democrat Left is apoplectic at this very moment. This will pass.
Meanwhile the capabilities of the Iranians may have been interrupted but they are not down yet.
The refined uranium may be buried under collapsed mountain but Iran can still recover that material. It just takes time.

I wish there was another way.

But it was a lose/lose for the US.

If we do nothing and Iran gets the bomb, the whole middle East goes up in flames and the radiation spreads all over the world, and very likely the US would have to intervene anyway at that point.

If we act now we risk Muslim anger forever, but realistically we just kick the shit out of them and that's the end of the story.

There is no "good" solution to this equation. The best response was to act proactively and pre-empt the threat.
