In the link, Speaker Ryan inadvertently stated the Constitutional Problem the Senate Majority Leader, McConnell, opened up. The President has the Constitutional obligation to nominate a New Justice to the Supreme Court. Then the Senate has the Constitutional obligation to offer Advice and Consent. As Speaker Ryan put it, improperly: "The Senate has the Right to Refuse Advise And Consent."
Actually, the Senate has the right to confirm or not to confirm, in the actual context. The Senate is not empowered to Refuse Advise And Consent, which creates a process. The process creates a vote. Senator McConnell said no, to even the opening of the process: Of Advice and Consent. The Senate said "No!" to the U. S. Constitution.
And will likely get paid for it, all year long: Another Precedent, Another Precedent, Another Precedent for getting paid for not working.
McConnell: Blocking Supreme Court Nomination 'About A Principle, Not A Person'
Trump supporters famously blockaded Trump Rally attendees carrying dissent signs in Chicago, only last Friday. Trump himself rejected any further debates, and so Kasich agreed fairly quickly. Senator McConnell quashed any pretense of adherence to Constitutional requirements in the matter of Supreme Court nominations and confirmations.
The Trump campaign rally blockaders claimed that dissent was a violation of "Free Speech." Trump later ruled out any pretense at support for "Free Speech," no more debating. Then the "Establishment" GOP ruled out any debate at all regarding the new Supreme Court nominee.
Goes to Pattern, as likely Governor Christie could infer.
"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!
(Building pretty fences could include around Lands of Many Nations. Entryways could be created for selling tickets, to buy souvenirs--and Get Mexico to Pay For Them(?)!)
