Trump becomes first president to skip MLK Day proclamation

Explain this Struth.

Was it there orginally? Is it being removed for good?

“The Secretary of the Interior shall provide sufficient funding, as available, to improve the infrastructure of Independence National Historical Park, which shall be complete by July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence,”

Oh yea they are going to put it back when Trump leaves office. Smfh.

In September, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at removing "ideological indoctrination or divisive narratives." The order, titled "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History," specifically mentioned Philadelphia's Independence National Historic Park, home of the Liberty Bell and the President's House, as well as the Smithsonian Institution's museums in Washington, D.C.

Still trying to defend your 🍊 massa.

I know the order, I quoted the director responding to the removal

Is it just for the birthday celebration to return it to its original status? Is it part of cleaning up the park?

You really have given us no context here and just jumped to some radical conclusions

Washington is well known figure throughout the developed world. Outside of the US, no developed country cares about MLK.

Educated people from all over the world know something about MLK at least.

...

Also, I have no intention of visiting that continent.

I would like to, but I don't see having the time and money to get that far down my list of places I'd like to visit. Maybe someday.
