200 million is a bargain for the nations capitol.. take a look what the State of california is costing its taxpayers.

So what is the problem? The $200 million will come from private donors including President Trump himself. No taxpayer funds will be involved. A ballroom would be a nice addition and a way to entertain visiting dignitaries. Pretty much every President leaves his own mark on the White House with some addition or innovation or renovation. A ballroom would be more advantageous to the people than Obama's basketball court or Ford's tunnel to avoid having to go outside to get to the Whitehouse swimming pool or Nixon's bowling alley.

MArc would rather have U.S. presidents in the future have to use rented out hotel lobbys for official functions, I guess. This is actually something that should have been done a long time ago.. not on Trump's watch.
I dont see what Democrats think Trump is really getting out of this personally... he will soon be out of office and the location will be used by others.
