This 50-year old policy has already led to lasting peace between Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. There is no reason to believe that the Palestinians Arabs, if they were to ever negotiate in good faith would Israel, couldn't come to a similar agreement.

It never existed before and is the spiritual successor of Judea, a part of the Roman Empire that existed 2000 years ago. Within this timespan many empires existed there.
