I wanted to but missed it.

I'm not an Elvis fan but I like his music and I would have loved to say I saw an actual Elvis movie in the theater.

I was just a kid at the time, but I remember some hub-bub about Elvis when he did the Ed Sullivan show.

Chuck Berry was the real KING of R&R....

Typically the old people here are regressing back to childhood memories of a couple of good early Presley hits .
But later he was embarrassing --- films were dreadful and songs were for Mum and soppy teenagers .

This comment sums it for me ,
"According to countless musicians, including John Lennon, Chuck Berry’s name stands for rock and roll. It would be foolish to deny that he paved the way for other music legends such as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, David Bowie, and AC/DC."

I add -- he was a fairly vile person who spent 3 years in prison for being vile .
A true King Rock and Roller, not a fat lump of lard who died sitting on the toilet .

Number two might very well be vile Jerry Lee .

Elvis never composed anything,and his band made him look pretty good,it helps when you had someone like Scotty Moore as your guitarist.......he was just a good looking white kid who can sing...i put little Richard ahead of Jerry lee another who didnt do any composing...

Since my other thread was about the king of pop (Michael Jackson) I thought that I would do this thread about the king of rock and roll which is Elvis Presley since I really like both of them even though I like Michael Jackson more.









Also, I got these pictures at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Btw, all of you ladies who grew up with him and had the hots for him I can see why. Had I been born in that time frame, I would have joined you.

the REAL king of rock and roll was jerry lee lewis,he blows elvis presely out of the water.elvis was so overrated.the only song of his that impresssed me was burning love.
