Top 10 Catastrophic Climate Predictions That Failed

Yes, many of the more alarmist predictions made in the 1970’s did not come true.

Mainly because the environmental science was still very new.

Yet, manmade global warming is an established fact. we now know that the oil industry understood it as early as the mid 1980’s.

Their response was a massive public relations campaign to wish it away. It was supported by endless propoganda, junk science, and political presssure on oil friendly politicians. Right wing media was, and is, the primary focus.

Another strategy big oil uses is promotion of conspiracy theories like the one in your post.

As for this

" Their predictions of calamity never happened, so they switched to "Climate Change" so they can blame any weather event on capitalism- but only Western Capitalism. They aren't protesting Chinese and Indian dirty’

No, it was not environmentalists who promoted the ā€œclimate changeā€ label.

It was big oil. In an effort to make the effects appear benign, and to try and deflect public focus away from fossil fuels.

When did man discover fire? Seems to me that we have been releasing carbon for a long, long time. Why didn’t we kill the planet?

These are all outdated claims.. another big oil/right wing effort is to discount the effects of technical progress in new technology.

Claims that electric cars take more energy and resources to make than gasoline cars is not true.

Contrary to your false claim, batteries are routinely recycled.

ā€œWindmills, take hundreds of gallons of oil to lubricate. Kill thousands of birds and cannot be recycled.ā€

An idiotic claim! How much oil does a gas fired power plant need to lubricate bearings in giant turbines?

You think massive amounts of carbon dioxide emissions don’t kill or shorten the lives of everything that breathes? No one ever complained about how many birds die from flying into the walls of glass curtain wall skyscrapers (far more than windmills do)

ā€œLoonsā€ like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Recycling decades old, and long since discredited talk radio tropes like these.
Batteries cannot be recycled and are toxic to the environment.
The blades on the windmills cannot be recycled and have to be buried. They do kill thousands of birds, including ones on the endangered list.
Gas cars can almost be 100% recycled and plants and trees absorb carbon dioxide. So when you clear off thousands of acres of plants and trees for your solar and windmill farms. You are killing off the very thing that gets rid of the gas you're trying to eliminate through clean energy. Sounds pretty stupid to me, but we are talking about liberal logic. The logic that thinks a man can become a woman.

We’re working on it.

The entire global emission of man made fir throughout the world would not equal to five minutes of output from a coal fired power plant.

I recycled mine.

So do glass curtain walled buildings. You didn’t make an issue of them. This is a lame right wing trope.

What makes you think farming doesn’t go on under solar arrays?

It’s working better than right wing Luddite thinking, and shilling for oil companies.

Get a grip on yourself FizzleBoy. No, not with your right hand.

Reading through all of your illiterate mistypings, coal fired plants filter out 90% of all their emissions, and there are in fact very few such plants still operating except in mostly third world countries. Your claim that 5 minutes of one plant's output exceeds all the rest of the world is absurd.

When I was growing up, the common thinking was that if anything, we were heading toward another ice age. Technically, we are just coming out of one, more closely approaching the historical norm for the planet.

Lol, you talking your gasoline car battery? Yes you can recycle them. The green movement has done more damage than good.

Top 10 Catastrophic Climate Predictions That Failed
It's been almost six years since the delinquent child activist Greta Thunberg promoted a so-called scientist's warning that "climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels" by 2023. The scientist in question, Harvard University professor James Anderson, also predicted "there will be no floating ice remaining" in the Arctic Ocean by 2022 absent a "Marshall Plan-style endeavor in which all of the world takes extreme measures to to transition off of fossil fuels completely within the next five years." That didn't happen, but climate activists are still warning that the Arctic could be ice-free at some point between 2035 and 2067.

Not surprisingly, there is a long history—dating back to the 1970s—of so-called climate scientists and government bureaucrats making catastrophic predictions about the environment that never materialized. Here are 10 of the most egregious examples. Enjoy!

1) In 1970, S. Dillon Ripley, a wildlife conservationist who served as secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, warned that 75 percent to 80 percent of species would be extinct by 1995. Wrong.

2) In 1970, Kenneth Watt, an ecologist and professor at the University of California, Davis, warned that "there won't be any more crude oil," that "none of our land will be usable" for agriculture, and the world would be 11 degrees colder by the year 2000. False."

When I was a kid, the Left tried to scare the people with claims of a Big Freeze. That never came, so they switched gears to Global Warming. Their predictions of calamity never happened, so they switched to "Climate Change" so they can blame any weather event on capitalism- but only Western Capitalism. They aren't protesting Chinese and Indian dirty
energy usage as if really were "killing the planet". If the Left really thought that fossil fuels were "killing the planet", they would
be demanding that we stopped China and India from dumping so much carbon into the atmosphere. The truth is that the Left's climate fear mongering is about control over industry- the means of production. Ring a bell? A progressive is like a watermelon- green on the outside and red to the core.

Conservative strategy on Climate Change…

1. Deny Climate Change exists

2. Admit that the climate is changing but that man has nothing to do with it

3. Admit that man is affecting the climate but it is too late to do anything about it.
The Climate is 4.5 Billion Years old and running. Of course it changes.

Adapting to climate change will cost some money and require abandonment of many cities. Using less energy could make some difference in the severity and speed of climate change, but that won't happen by choice. We passed peak oil around 20 years ago, so that is mathematical certainty instead of choice. Fracking was never profitable, but was hyped enough to get investment and subsidies for a while, until the investors asked where are the profits. Fossil fuels are being depleted much faster than the climate changes, so adapting to one change will be the start of adapting to the other.

And that change has accelerated over the last 100 years.
But lets just do nothing to be sure
What do we have to lose?

The myth is that it is an eminent threat,

The warmers figured out way to late that the hysteria didn't work.

Now, they are dealing with what it means to be relegated to the nickle seats when it comes to the discussion.
Nobody trusts them.

And they don't deserve any.

They really screwed up the opportunity to have a legitimate discussion about this issue.

Leading the charge:

Everyone knows the world started in 1970. 🤪

They didn’t miss it, they are just running with an idea that they want to prove, not disprove. It isn’t in their or their research donor’s best interest to find data that is contrary to their $$$ maker. Why try and accidentally stumble upon proof that cost them trillions? Sure, that is the way science is supposed to work, but scientists have long been willing to skirt the scientific method for politics and money. Sad but true. What would all these climate scientists do if it was definitively found that the world has gone through many similar cycles in its history and that humans are unable to stop them?

As long as the people pushing their socialistic nirvana civilization live like royalty while all other live the peasant route, it is all lies. And frankly, the peasants in our nation who live better than the peasants in 2nd and 3rd world nations, need to become like those peasants with globalist doctrines.
