I am a WF customer. This is mainly because my parent's are/were (Norwest mergered with WF in 99) and it just seemed the place to open my first checking account at 18, but I also had accounts joint with my parents as well. I have had that account since. We also have our mortgage with them.
I have worked for WF in the past, and they do not make bones about being pro-homo, as I worked with several openly gay people, including one gay male couple that invited the whole office floor to their commitment ceremony(i didn't go because I myself was getting married the next day). But they also support NORMAL families as well. When I was pregnant with Nathan, they were SO good and supportive and helpful about my needs that I actually regret not being there now. So I didn't agree with their opinion on homosexuality, I still had great benefits myself, and that job enabled us to buy our house, because I worked for the mortgage division, so I had NO fees from them, not even application fees. I even got an incentive of $250 in credit for tru-green chemlawn that WF partnered with for attracting more customers.
I will not change banks because 1.-it would be a pain in the arse since I have nearly all my bills automatically paid through that account, but through the website of the company I am paying. My billpay service through wells fargo is free, so if I do need to send a payment that way, no problem. It would be too much work to call all my bills and change everything.
2.-The WF atm's here allow me to deposit funds up to 6pm, and still be credited THAT DAY, not the day after like other banks.
3.-Because I have been with them since 1996, I have leverage when needing to borrow money or open another account.
Those of you who are taking their business away, it's your business and personal choice, and I am not going to try to change your mind. I just don't plan to because I am happy with the service and convenience they offer, and just don't really think about their other affiliations.
