Beautiful P-47 Thunderbolt (Jug) color footage. ;)

The saying "give them the whole nine yards" referred to firing the entire length of a nine foot long belt of .50 cal ammo.

The P-47 was only made for four years then the company making them went out of business (it was actually sold to another company then they went out of business)!
The company changed names and owners three times. It started as Seversky which produced the SEC-3, A-8V, P-35 and P-41. It changed names to Republic aviation which produced the P-43, P-47, XP-72, RC-3 Seabee, XF-12, F-84, XF-91, F-84, F-84F, XF-91, RF-84F, F-105, and changed its name again to Fairchild/Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. During its life Seversky/Republic. Fairchild/Republic produced nearly thirty thousand aircraft over fifty-three years. So you are wrong on every count.
