Al isn't really sleeping. His eyes shut for a few seconds at a time, but only for about fifteen seconds. It's also worth mentioning the video is different from the picture posted in the OP.

This is rather silly to grill someone over anyway. More substantial instances crop up where people doze off during a speech or hearing. What are we going to get outraged over next, Pelosi blinking too much?

Please get an education. We have been in Afghanistan for 9 years, and yet oh no one has declared war ? why? Because A) Were not at war with a nation and B) there is no need to.

The President can send send troops anywhere in the world without explanation for 60 days , all he has to do is notify certain members of Congress. Although like I've said before it is traditional for him to notify the entire body in a conflict this big. He doesn't need their permission. They can vote for a resolution , but that doesn't mean shit. if in 2003 Bush had went to Congress and flat said "I'm sending in the Army to take out Saddaam cuz I don't like him" Congress couldn't have stopped him, that is within his SOLE discretionary powers, as long as he doesn't have them there longer than 60 days, PLUS an additional 30 days to withdraw from the battlefield. The ONLY thing Congress has voted on in regards to Iraq and or Afghanistan is funding, they have not actually voted to bring home the troops or keep th em there, as that is NOT their purview.

In our 230 years we have been involved in 54 wars, with only 5 of them being declared.

By the way, Congress doesn't vote for war. the Senate does, but not the entire Congress.
