Uh, are you forgetting that the President was a key member of the Administration before last? And he made the exact same prediction during the first term of President Obama's term in office. That the US should leave immediately, and that the Taliban was no threat and could not take the country. And even then, he found some analysts that agreed with that position.

And thankfully, the President then had better advisors, and the President shut that proposal down. But now the death toll is going to be horrendous, so I guess some think that is a good thing. Just so long as it is not them.

Of course, even President Clinton was having problems with them, and launched missiles against them on more than one occasion. Funny how many people completely forget about the past.
