  1. "Guns aren’t the problem. “Gun Free Zones” are the problem. They are killing fields. They are an open invitation for mentally-deranged criminals and criminally insane madmen to walk in and start shooting. “Gun Free Zone” signs are like a blinking neon sign in Vegas screaming, “Come on in and kill us. We are helpless, defenseless and weak.”
  2. Guns didn’t cause this tragedy. But a good guy with a gun sure ended it. An armed border agent killed the bad guy, thereby saving lives. That should be the headline.
  3. We need more good guys (and gals) with guns to stop bad guys. Every school needs armed security. There should be only a single point of entry to every school- and a guard must always protect that entrance. All other doors to the school need to be locked and secured.
  4. Backing up the armed security at every school should be teachers and/or administrators with guns and professional gun training.
  5. How can we afford all this? I’ve argued from day one it was a disastrous decision and tragic mistake to give another $40 billion to Ukraine. We need to worry about America. We could have used that $40 billion here at home. Half of it ($20 billion) should have been used to pay for armed security at every school in America.
  6. If we really want to protect children, secure the border. The other half of the Ukraine funding ($20 billion more) should have been used to build and secure the wall on our Southern border. If we’re angry and shocked as a nation about 19 innocent young children dying in that school shooting, shouldn’t we be even more concerned with tens of thousands of American kids dying each year from drug overdoses- with drugs brought through our porous open border. Everything that comes over that border is a threat to America’s children- drugs, human traffickers, child sex traffickers and tons of violent criminals, gang bangers and MS-13 murderers. Why didn’t we use that Ukraine money to save thousands of children’s lives by securing the border?
  7. Gun control is never the answer. Gun control is a massive failure. There are far more shootings, violent crimes and murders in Democrat-run big cities with strict gun control than anywhere else. If strict gun control works, why are the streets of Democrat cities like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, New York and Los Angeles such killing fields? The answer is simple: strict gun control never stops criminals. It just leaves the good people defenseless.
  8. New gun laws will do nothing to stop crime or mass murders. Why don’t we enforce laws already on the books against violent criminals? Crimes are almost always committed by repeat offenders that Democrat District Attorneys allowed back on the streets.
  9. Instead of useless new laws, why don’t we make mass murder (the killing of two or more) a DEATH PENALTY crime. If convicted of mass murder, there are no appeals, the convicted mass killer is executed the next day by firing squad. End of story. That’s the way to deter more mass shootings.
  10. Investigate Big Pharma for the drugs they pump into young males for depression, anger issues, ADD and mental illness. Virtually every mass killer in recent memory was on these drugs. The side effects of these drugs are suicidal and violent thoughts. Why are we drugging so many male teenagers?
  11. Never mention “Defund Police” ever again. Incidents like this prove we need more police, not less.
  12. But there are many questions about how these specific police responded. Did they stand around for an hour while kids were being murdered? Police announced they waited so long because they were “afraid to get shot.” Really? If police are afraid to get shot, they should be instantly terminated. That’s their job- to risk their life to protect civilians. So, no more “defund police,” but let’s re-think how we’re hiring and training police. We need heroic macho warriors. Stop trying to make them into politically-correct pansies, poets and social workers. " The 12 Lessons Every Conservative Patriot Learned From the Tragic Texas School Shooting. what rubbish you are speaking ? you do not makes sense. lol

Articulate your disagreement.....or has government school deprived you of the ability?

Introspection is required to learn anything....One first has to admit that they know that they don't know something.

There is an utter dearth of that essential human trait on the left.

Sadly, it may not just be the admitted Left.....

I have a friend, wise beyond his years, who claimed that the number of IQ points in the world remains static, but must be divided among an ever increasing populace.

Government school is a major factor.

Not guns......the hands in which we find those guns.

I can go for all of these except armed security at every school. There are 130,900+ schools in the USA. Some of them remote, tiny, with exceedingly, almost impossibly long odds of ever seeing an incident like this. The armed security guards--if you can even find them to hire--would soon be pressed into subbing, running copies, or dealing with behavior issues. Then they're off the job. So why have them?

Strange question, maybe really out of the box. (Not really a question--the scenario I pose below)

What I expect will happen is that armed dads from coast to coast will make a pact to show up at their child's school at the first hint of trouble. And so they should. And who can blame them after Uvalda?

OK.....but how about this:

"Let’s say we want the bare minimum, just enough to pass the safety requirement for gun ownership. In Maryland, there’s a company that will charge you $100 for that training. The cost, then, would be about $71.8 million for all of our teachers.

.....more robust training means that the cost for our 718,000 teachers spikes to $718 million. There would almost certainly be some efficiencies of scale that would come into play here — systems would be developed to train teachers quickly and at less cost — but the figure would still likely run into the hundreds of millions of dollars."

What the heck are we waiting for???????

"After the Columbine school shooting 20 years ago, one of the more significant changes in how we protect students has been the advance of legislation that allows teachers to carry guns at schools. There are two obvious questions: Does letting teachers carry create dangers? Might they deter attackers?

Twenty states currently allow teachers and staff to carry guns to varying degrees on school property, so we don’t need to guess how the policy would work. There has yet to be a single case of someone being wounded or killed from a shooting, let alone a mass public shooting, between 6 AM and midnight at a school that lets teachers carry guns.

Fears of teachers carrying guns in terms of such problems as students obtaining teachers guns have not occurred at all, and there was only one accidental discharge outside of school hours with no one was really harmed. While there have not been any problems at schools with armed teachers, the number of people killed at other schools has increased significantly – doubling between 2001 and 2008 versus 2009 and 2018."

"Let me give you a little tip: if you want liberalism to continue in this country, you have to realize that liberal students are being let down by their professors! They have liberal school teachers, and read the liberal press! Because of this weak preparation, they are unable to argue, to think beyond the first knee-jerk impulse. They can’t put together a logical thought. Now, compare that to a college Republican…"

Chicy fails to understand that not winning the war against Russia, just ensures that America loses world supremacy as the only superpower.
Her and most others aren't accepting that the coming Russia/China alliance is going to wield more economic power than America, as well as close enough to equal military power to upset the current status quo.

First America needs to attempt to stop the foreign threat that comes from abroad, and then perhaps try to deal with the domestic sickness that is overtaking her country.

The shooting of America's children in their schools where they should be safe is just going to have to be accepted as a part of the American way, for the foreseeable future.

But there is another possible alternate! Consider Michael Moore's wise advice on the military mindset and America's continuous wars are the enemies that can be fought at the same time as America fights Russia and/or China. That's a relatively cost free answer that only requires attitudes change to accepting peaceful and mutual respect for all nations, instead of bombs from 30,000 feet!

There's always some good intended in what she's trying to say. I choose to focus on that and leave all the hurt she feels behind for her to deal with on her personal level.

In fairness, she's likely never lived in a period of time when America hasn't been at war with some country!

Yes, I can see the appeal in this. But can I guarantee that some loco teacher won't go crazy and shoot up the workplace? Nope. And likewise, I can't even guarantee that someone would hire in on purpose into a school to do the same.

I think it would be much better to have three people carefully selected in each school to arm--say three for an average elem school, more for secondary schools. People who have been in the school for a while, live in the community and are great community members, are already familiar with guns and are willing to receive more training. For what it's worth.

One thing I'm opposed to is turning our schools into something that looks like prison yards. That to me is a "safety at any cost" measure similar to Covid--and will have the same detrimental effects on children. You might save a few lives (which is immeasurably valuable of course), but you will lose a LOT of mental and emotional wellness. Thus creating more mass shooters.

If America weren't 'supreme' you wouldn't be here evincing the jealousy due to living in that prison camp, Canada.

Oh. That's....wow. I doubt there is one word ever typed on this forum that has ever hurt PC personally. I think, like many whose family are fairly recent immigrants to the USA, she appreciates the freedom we have here and rather vigorously does not want to see it destroyed.

I understand that, even though my family on both sides has been here a long time. "The last best hope of man on earth"--Ronald Reagan.

Great post and I would add, trash the relative morality pushed by Democrats and get back to teaching objective, Judeo-Christian morals and values instead of polluting young minds with gender confusion, racism, etc.

don't have time to read everything here @ the forums but

don't get how libs are for gun control so called... when everyone with half a brain knows that if you make people jump through a lot of hoops and even then may face being denied a gun...

criminals just laugh at that ... Like they really care about the legal procedure to... do anything
