Socialism is when the government owns and runs labor and capital. When the government sub-contracts private companies and capital? That economic system is known as Dirigisme, or Corporatism/crony capitalism.

It is no different than what is practiced in fascist Italy and Germany. It is also what the CCP does now to a large extent.

Mussolini modeled is economy off of FDR, and they continually kept in contact till it was no longer politically appropriate. American companies were hugely invested in Nazi Germany.

I don’t even think you understand this meme. More importantly, socialism is a very brood term. It doesn’t have to be the antithesis of capitalism. So yes, Nordic systems ARE socialists because of the strong welfare systems. In fact, any socialist system I advocate for does have a private market economy.
