Soon after Washington Post writer Taylor Lorenz revealed the identity of the creator of the popular Twitter account Libs of TikTok, the person behind the account received an assassination threat online, complete with her now-outed name and a photo of a firearm.
“Assassination mode activated,” the threat reads. “Activation Word: Libs of TikTok.” The threat then added the name of the person behind the Libs of TikTok Twitter account under “Target.” “Begin Operation,” the post closed.
The threat captioned a photo of a person’s hands holding what appears to be a submachine gun. When Libs of TikTok alerted Twitter Support to the threat, the platform told her the tweet did not violate its policies.
“Apparently threatening to assassinate someone doesn’t violate Twitter’s policies,” Libs of TikTok mocked Twitter. “But conservatives get suspended for stating biological facts.”
Wow, I guess you can threaten to assissinate Conservatives as long as you're acting in the name of leftism?
