In a Republic, actually
‘Angry voters in Iowa could turn the state from solid red to a swing state because they feel betrayed by President Donald Trump on issues from healthcare to agriculture. According to an article in Newsweek, Iowa has "leaned Republicans" for nearly a decade, with Trump carrying the state "by 9 points in 2016, 8 points in 2020, and about the same in 2024."

But that could soon change if the latest polling is accurate. "Democrats and independents argue that key parts of Trump's agenda — from cutting Medicaid to promoting cane sugar over corn syrup — are alienating voters in this farm-heavy state," wrote politics reporter Jesus Mesa.

Trump recently bragged on social media that he convinced Coca-Cola to use cane sugar over corn syrup in its American product. "This will be a very good move by them — You’ll see. It’s just better!" he wrote. One corn and soybean farmer told Newsweek the "move was 'a betrayal' of Trump's own 'America First' pledge."

Former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Julie Stauch told Newsweek, "People on the ground here are definitely very angry about a wide variety of things Republicans are doing. They're allowing themselves to be intimidated by a bully... but voters feel the impact of those decisions."’

“Angry voters in Iowa…”

No, stupid voters in Iowa – and everywhere else.

They knew who and what Trump is; they knew what Congressional Republicans would do – they’re in no position to be ‘angry,’ they have only themselves to blame, the stupidity of voting for Trump and Republicans.

Doesn’t matter

Republicans will vote against their own interests as long as Trump….

Hunts down Mexicans and throws them in hellhole prisons
Harasses gays and trannies
Protects guns from them evil Democrats trying to take them
Turns America into a Christian nation

LOL....I told you the corn lobby would be pissed. :laughing0301:

The problem is, Cane Sugar is better, and frankly, Iowa produces too much corn, which is why the government has to keep inventing uses for it like Ethanol no one wants, or high fructose corn syrup that isn't particularly healthy.

/-----/ "Republicans will vote against their own interests as long as Trump…."
Our own interests include a sealed border, illegals rounded up and sent home, a budget surplus, making the tax cuts permanent, better trade deals, DOGE cuts codified into law, and a strong military. There are more, but you get the drift.
And President Trump delivered.

Except he increased the deficit, screwed up trade, and the military is weaker because people don't really want to sign up.

So are you all campaigning on using corn syrup over cane sugar in soft drinks? You think that’s what’s gonna get you back in the majority?

Your problems are that you caved into and then became controlled by extremists. California needs to build up its infrastructure and provide comforts for its people. A rich state which would be a rich country on its own is a disgrace. Dump the mag lev crap. Sell it off for a profit for other rail choices to corporate interests and other options. Use the money for highway upgrades and improve water and power.

So why did you make the comment on a thread claiming Iowans are upset about corn syrup not being used by Coke?

Well they'll get the corn syrup lobby which will be good for at least 130 votes...

Because I know that even though Iowans will lose money under Republicans. More because of Trade Wars than corn syrup. They will continue to vote Republicans because of God, Guns and immigration.

How can putting the bribes he got from Florida over the bribes he got from Iowa be a 'betrayal' of Chump's America First when it's everything America First stands for?

True because your views on those core issues is counter to their self interest and will cost them much more in the longer run
