Three years left to limit warming to 1.5C, leading scientists warn

plants Breathe?

Yes, and they're growing faster, as are the trees. Birds and dinosaurs will grow bigger too.

Well, at least the dinosaurs that the god didn't drown?
The US has more trees now than 100 years ago. There where times in Earths history when CO2 levels where many times higher than they are today and life thrived. I'm curious how a slight increase in levels today will cause the apocalypse.

Where for were, twice!

ESL?

Co2 levels are causing faster tree and plant growth.
Does it have an effect on climate change?

That's because Alaska wasn't a state 100 years ago ...

I know I know I know ... but these extra trees must be in The East ... because there's certainly less trees in The West than 100 years ago ... or at best even ... mandatory replanting wasn't a thing until 50 or 75 years ago ... whereas chainsaws have gotten better and better and better and...

The cause of this apocalypse is the magical properties of carbon dioxide ... it's supposed to effect temperature far more than it's paltry 0.02% mass of the atmosphere would indicate ... since no natural force can cause this, we must rely on super-natural forces ...

Only the cool people can see this ... and we don't want to be seen as uncool ... now do we? ... see how that works? ...

Well then they must come from the god!

Lake of “fossil fuel” on Saturns Moon Titan

How did velociraptors get there!

They’re a product of geology not fossils

The thermocline is the boundary where no energy from the Sun ever reaches, among other attributes.
So what? The water below the thermocline has heat. It’s not at absolute zero. And according to you heat rises, right?

Is the water below the thermocline heating the water above the thermocline? Where did that heat come from? You know… the heat in the water above the thermocline? And where did the heat below the thermocline come from?

Below the thermocline the temperature is constant. The heat in the water above the thermocline comes from the Sun. Exclusively UV because that is the only wavelength that can penetrate the skin of the water.

WRT the water temperature below the thermocline, there is still a gradient. The deeper the water depth, the colder the temperature. Is that due to heat rising? Where did the heat come from?

Yes, the heat came from the sun. Just like the heat below the thermocline came from the sun.

No, the ocean is not exclusively heated by UV.
The infrared (IR) radiation spectrum, also known as thermal radiation, is the primary type of solar radiation that heats the ocean, according to NASA Science. While visible light also contributes to heating, infrared radiation is absorbed more readily by water molecules in the ocean's surface layer.

Where ever did you get the crazy idea that the ocean is heated exclusively by UV? Do you have a link?

No, according to NASA science they claim that it is, but can't provide data to prove it.

Huge difference.

Is that your way of saying you have nothing to back up your claim that the ocean is heated exclusively by UV?

No, that's my way of saying that NASA is pushing a narrative, a narrative that they can't provide evidence for.

Observational evidence
  • At-sea measurements of ocean skin and bulk temperatures show a dependence of the skin temperature difference on the net infrared forcing.
  • AERI (Atmospheric Emitted Radiance Interferometer) measurements in the Gulf of Mexico demonstrated how IR radiation affects ocean skin temperature and radiative properties.
  • Studies utilizing the increase in incoming longwave radiation from clouds (a source of increased IR) to analyze vertical temperature profiles in the TSL have provided further insights into this mechanism.

Yeah, ocean SKIN. It can't penetrate the SKIN. That's less than one millimeter deep!

Still waiting for your link that UV heats the oceans at 500 meters depth ...

Oh ... here's the data you asked for ... this shows the "windows" where IR reaches the water surface ...

Does anyone remember enough of their calculus to know total energy per second is the area under these curves ...

When I am back on a computer I will provide it. Or, you can explain how a wavelength incapable of penetrating the skin of water can warm the oceans.
