The Earth could be doomed to breach the symbolic 1.5C warming limit in as little as three years at current levels of carbon dioxide emissions.

That's the stark warning from more than 60 of the world's leading climate scientists in the most up-to-date assessment of the state of global warming.

Nearly 200 countries agreed to try to limit global temperature rises to 1.5C above levels of the late 1800s in a landmark agreement in 2015, with the aim of avoiding some of the worst impacts of climate change.

But countries have continued to burn record amounts of coal, oil and gas and chop down carbon-rich forests - leaving that international goal in peril
.

It's summer, so here's the latest climate prediction.

I wonder what the dinosaurs would think of our very low heat and co2 levels 🤔

Climate predictors are on a BLUTARSKY (zero point zero) -- 0 for the last 100 years. But, they never stop predicting or trying to take away our freedoms.

The Climate Crisis – A Race We Can Win

Climate change is the defining crisis of our time and it is happening even more quickly than we feared. But we are far from powerless in the face of this global threat. As Secretary-General António Guterres pointed out in September, “the climate emergency is a race we are losing, but it is a race we can win”.

No corner of the globe is immune from the devastating consequences of climate change. Rising temperatures are fueling environmental degradation, natural disasters, weather extremes, food and water insecurity, economic disruption, conflict, and terrorism. Sea levels are rising, the Arctic is melting, coral reefs are dying, oceans are acidifying, and forests are burning. It is clear that business as usual is not good enough. As the infinite cost of climate change reaches irreversible highs, now is the time for bold collective action.

We can at least leave this thread with a contrary opinion by the experts.
Only if you ignore natural warming that occurs in every interglacial period and believe the feedback (i.e. water vapor) is 3.5 times worse than the instantaneous GHG effect of CO2 which is only 1C per doubling of CO2.

Climate change... is happening even more quickly than we feared?

OMG... You are right... I can see it...

It's been warmer in the past and none of this doom and gloom happened ... oh, except we invented agriculture when it was warmer ... that's a bad thing, right? ...

The opinion piece I posted isn't mine. I leave the opinions to the experts on climate change.

I just considered that an opposing view should be posted here. Do you have a third opinion that's based on climate expertise?

It was much warmer when the dinosaurs and humans lived together in harmony. Who are we supposed be believe on Co2 harming the environment? Doctor Judith Curry or Ding? She's the top denialist with an interesting twist.

Dinosaurs provided rides to work in exchange for dinosaur cookies which were a larger version of dog cookies.

With regard to the planet's climate, you can consider me your god.

To answer your questions, let's look at the evidence. You like evidence, right? Do you need for me to walk you through what this evidence shows?

My apologies ... I was speaking of the beginning of the Holocene ... roughly 10,000 years ago ... temperatures were 4ºC over 20th Century average ... and sea levels were 30 feet higher ...

Go back to post #6 ... are you going to back any of that up or are you just here flinging poop? ...

Sea levels were 29,000 feet higher during Noah's flood. That must have taken nearly a billion years to evaporate back down to normal sea level!

Could you please support our ding on his theories of the bibles being literally untrue.

Even if you don't believe it, could you just maybe pretend?

I'm no expert but I'll have to check your opinion out with the denialist in chief, Ms. Curry. It seems she's blown the whistle on you Co2 theory. She's the turncoat denialist with credentials.

You can still have a third opinion as long as your theories are peer reviewed by science's heavy hitters!

There are cities in China that emit more CO2 than entire countries, go chain yourself to the Chinese Embassy

I see that Post #9 was too difficult for climate cultists to handle thus stay away, here is more bad news to show more evidence that we have already arrived at the made up doom 1.5C increase line and nothing terrible showed up.

Where is the Kaboom???

Land temperatures have already risen more than the dreaded 2°C, with no cataclysmic consequences … there has been no historical “climate emergency” despite temperature increases.

And Berkeley Earth global temperature is already above the dreaded 1.5°C threshold.

Paleo data shows that over the Holocene temperatures have varied widely with little change in CO2, and the current warming started in 1700, long before the modern CO2 increase.

Where is that gosh darned KABOOM!!!

The only actual "warming" in the data is from

URBAN HEAT ISLAND EFFECT

there is no other warming at all

NO WARMING in the ATMOSPHERE
NO WARMING in the OCEANS
NO ONGOING NET ICE MELT
NO BREAKOUT in CANE ACTIVITY
NO OCEAN RISE
