Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly unleashed on debate hosts ABC News following Tuesday’s showdown between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, saying she was “disgusted” as she accused the network of blatant bias in favor of the Democratic nominee.


“I’m disgusted. I’m ashamed of those moderators at ABC News,” Kelly declared in a post-debate monologue on her SiriusXM show. “It was three against one on that debate stage this evening.”



She continued: “This was a mistake to trust ABC News with this debate. The Republicans must learn from this mistake. The same way the Democrats never, never agree to do anything with moderators they don’t entirely trust. This should be the last time the Republicans ever do this. Because those two moderators tried to sink Donald Trump tonight.”


Rounding on ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis while defending Trump’s more defensive moments, Kelly accused the pair of actively working to undermine the former president while giving Harris a free pass.


She continued: “Trump did the best he could under the circumstances, but it really was like three fighters in the ring against one opponent. And Trump tried to take them all on. He did fine. He did as best as he could. He was thrown a few times to the point where he was unnecessarily defensive and he was getting angry. And so was I.”


Kelly summarized her take on the “obvious tactic” used by ABC News: “‘Do you have any regrets or thoughts on how terrible you were?’ Trump answers. ‘Vice President Harris, how bad is Trump?’ And then she’d answer. It happened over and over again. That was the format. ‘Mr. Trump, you’re a piece of shit.’ ‘Kamala Harris, isn’t he a shit? Thank you.’ It was incredible.”


“Anything Trump said, fact check, fact check, fact check… and their fact checks were full of shit,” Kelly went on.



Her frustrations extended beyond the debate itself, calling out ABC News for a perceived conflict of interest, referencing Dana Walden, co-chair of ABC’s parent company Disney, and her personal ties to Harris.


“They did Dana Walden’s bidding tonight,” Kelly said.


In her closing remarks, Kelly said she believed that ABC’s debate event might ultimately backfire: “I actually think the American public is going to see through this, and there’s probably going to be some empathy for Trump.”

3. Manage Balance

They DO NOT FACT CHECK. That is the job of the opponent.

Pure garbage. If you think your so damn smart, why don't you call all the people (and there many including democrats) who say they did a piss-poor job and tell them they are wrong. Really not interested in your opinion (especially the ones (which is all of them) you don't back up.

As such it is their job to query the speakers, to add context to wrong or vague statements, to clarify when obvious falsehoods are presented.

Journalists who are experienced and with track records are the best available folks to facilitate a discussion that better informs America.
And America came away from Tuesday's discussion better informed about the capabilities, demeanor, and preparedness of each of the candidates.
