Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly unleashed on debate hosts ABC News following Tuesday’s showdown between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, saying she was “disgusted” as she accused the network of blatant bias in favor of the Democratic nominee.


“I’m disgusted. I’m ashamed of those moderators at ABC News,” Kelly declared in a post-debate monologue on her SiriusXM show. “It was three against one on that debate stage this evening.”



She continued: “This was a mistake to trust ABC News with this debate. The Republicans must learn from this mistake. The same way the Democrats never, never agree to do anything with moderators they don’t entirely trust. This should be the last time the Republicans ever do this. Because those two moderators tried to sink Donald Trump tonight.”


Rounding on ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis while defending Trump’s more defensive moments, Kelly accused the pair of actively working to undermine the former president while giving Harris a free pass.


She continued: “Trump did the best he could under the circumstances, but it really was like three fighters in the ring against one opponent. And Trump tried to take them all on. He did fine. He did as best as he could. He was thrown a few times to the point where he was unnecessarily defensive and he was getting angry. And so was I.”


Kelly summarized her take on the “obvious tactic” used by ABC News: “‘Do you have any regrets or thoughts on how terrible you were?’ Trump answers. ‘Vice President Harris, how bad is Trump?’ And then she’d answer. It happened over and over again. That was the format. ‘Mr. Trump, you’re a piece of shit.’ ‘Kamala Harris, isn’t he a shit? Thank you.’ It was incredible.”


“Anything Trump said, fact check, fact check, fact check… and their fact checks were full of shit,” Kelly went on.



Her frustrations extended beyond the debate itself, calling out ABC News for a perceived conflict of interest, referencing Dana Walden, co-chair of ABC’s parent company Disney, and her personal ties to Harris.


“They did Dana Walden’s bidding tonight,” Kelly said.


In her closing remarks, Kelly said she believed that ABC’s debate event might ultimately backfire: “I actually think the American public is going to see through this, and there’s probably going to be some empathy for Trump.”

After all, Trump triumphed. He said so himself.
Don Trump confidently asserted that it was his best debate ever and that he won overwhelmingly, even citing one after-debate poll that he said showed a 90% favorable for him and a 3% favorable for Harris.

Yet, those two posters and Meagan Kelly too........sourly grump on this USMB venue whining that it was so unfair.

Clearly, Don Trump thought the ABC format worked for him. Lest, he wouldn't claim he won bigly, and gave his best performance ever.

It seems to disinterested observers, that iMAGAs ain't parading their misogyny character tic....well then, they are snowflaking about how unfair life is for them and Don Trump.

If there was one complaint about the ABC moderators it was that they seemed to allow Trump chances for rebuttal when they weren’t supposed to. Several times, Trump bullied his way past the moderators who said they wanted to move on to the next topic. ABC said microphones would be muted when it wasn’t a candidate’s turn to talk, but Trump was allowed to speak and his microphone went from being off to being turned on.

As a result, MSNBC reported that Trump spoke for 43 minutes and 3 seconds, while Harris spoke for 37 minutes, 41 seconds. That more-than-five-minute difference was because Trump was allowed to talk when he wasn’t supposed to.

But, in the end, it’s hard to say that anything the moderators did tipped the balance of fairness. Aside from a few lapses allowing Trump to speak out of turn, they kept the debate moving, hit pertinent topics, and the result was that viewers got an accurate sense of where the candidates stand at this moment.
