"What is the worst sports injury you have ever seen?"

Joe Theismann's leg break is the first that comes to mind for me. I do remember watching the old NBC show "Sportsworld" and a power lifting competition that had one guy doing a squat and both knees blew out. It was pretty bad.

Red Sox pitcher Matt Clement...took a line drive to the temple. Never pitched effectively again.

I remember seeing a Steelers player whose knee was hit and it bent the wrong way. Ewwwwwww! Out for the season.

Jason Kendall had a "compound fracture" of his lower leg while running out a ground ball...bone visibly sticking out of his leg...clearly visible on video.
