Thought For The Day by John Jaeger, MBA

"After years of being exposed to the American media in all its forms, I've concluded that conservatives resent being lied to nearly as much as liberals hate being told the truth." - columnist Burt Prelutsky

Happy people make the world better; unhappy people make it worse. - Radio Talk Show Host and Biblical Scholar, Dennis Prager

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” – George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman

Killing innocent, unborn babies purely for convenience is evil.
Homosexuality is evil.
Pretending that anyone, particularly children, can change their sex is evil.
Atheism is evil.
Race-baiting divisive lies are evil.
The pedophile, incompetent criminal in the Oval Office is evil.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;" - Isaiah 5:30

The "Equality" trope

Recently the World Bank published an editorial on inequality of income, by country. The MOST "unequal" income range of any country is found in the Union of South Africa. (Oh my!)

I wrote a letter to the five or six top executives of the World Bank and pointed out to them that the MOST EQUAL cohort of people on earth can be found on North Sentinel Island, in the Andaman Sea.
There approximately 500 people live as hunter-gatherers. They have zero income each and are as equal and as poor as anyone on earth can be. These "equal" natives' lives would be immeasurably improved by moving to poverty-stricken Cuba, the only sustainable country on earth, much less Union of South Africa.

Example #2

Some years ago, former tennis champion Lindsay Davenport complained in the Wall Street Journal that women's tennis was "unfair" because men were paid more. My letter was published countering her "fairness" nonsense for these reasons.
1. Men play best of 5 sets in most big tournaments, while women play best of 3.
2. The 400th ranked male tennis pro can easily beat the top ranked female tennis pro. They want equal pay for unequal work, qualitatively and quantitatively?

That is unfair. It's nonsense.

"Religiously unaffiliated subjects had significantly more lifetime suicide attempts and more first-degree relatives who committed suicide than subjects who endorsed a religious affiliation. Unaffiliated subjects were younger, less often married, less often had children, and had less contact with family members. Furthermore, subjects with no religious affiliation received fewer reasons for living, particularly fewer moral objections to suicide. In terms of clinical characteristics, religiously unaffiliated subjects had more lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and past substance se disorder." –Religious Affiliation and Suicide Attempt, American Journal of psychiatry, December 2004

We fight not for glory, nor for riches, nor for honour, but only and alone for Freedom, which no good man lays down but with his life. --Declaration of Arbroath, Scotland, 1320

For me, and I suspected for a growing number of young people, I had to divest myself of the “silly” ideas instilled in me by science, not religion; in the twenty-first century, science, not the Church, is the oppressor that champions a worldview that has to be cast off. – Professor George Stanciu The Imaginative Conservative

“I find it quite improbable that order came out of chaos. There has to be some organizing principle. God to me is a mystery but is the explanation for the miracle of existence, why there is something rather than nothing.” - Allan Sandage, widely regarded as the father of modern astronomy, discoverer of quasars

"If you were to take . . . all the authoritative articles ever written .

. . on the subject of mental hygiene, if you were to combine them and

refine them and cleve out the excess verbiage, if you were to take the

whole of the meat and none of the parsley, and if you were to have

these unadulterated bits of pure scientific knowledge concisely

expressed by the most capable of living poets, you would have an

awkward and incomplete summation of the Sermon on the Mount."-

Friday's Thought for the Day (My apologies)

"What the herd hates most is the one who thinks differently; it is not so much the opinion itself, but the audacity of wanting to think for themselves, something that they do not know how to do." — Arthur Schopenhauer

"What the Democrats are doing is an abomination to the Constitution." – Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who states he is a “liberal Democrat”, November 20, 2019 on live television news

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened. I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform." - - Norman Thomas, perennial Socialist Party presidential candidate and one of the founders of the ACLU

1 Corinthians 13: 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
