An A.I. program picked white people over non-white people in a beauty contest.

This is a big problem.

Really.

I mean, we need to stop the rotation of this planet and get everyone working on this problem until it is solved.

No planting crops, no building cars, no pumping for oil, no anything from anyone until this problem is solved.

The algorithm was designed to look for the shape of the face to determine what is beautiful in the human face.

They used mostly white people to teach the computer what was beautiful. They TOLD the computer that white faces were beautiful.

People of other races have different shapes to their faces. The computer did not think they were beautiful because their faces did not look like white faces.

It had nothing to do with skin color, it had to do with the shape of the face.
