Never, repeat NEVER date a co-worker. You are screwing yourself far more than you will ever screw them.

It is an HR disaster waiting to happen. (as someone said)
And when you break up, you have to deal with all the drama at work.

Can a play with a coworker instead of date?

If you love or care about your job don't. If you are planning to leave in the near future maybe.
We ran into this kind of problem twice. And it's ugly. One of my executive (18 years employed) dated an employee a very hot good looking women. When they broke up she sue me for harassment. It cost me a lot of money to settle. I fired both of them after the case was closed.
The other case was also a sexual harassment. Also both got fired.

I thought as long as you didn't date your supervisor it was fine
