Landlords for Luxury apt buildings are now open to accepting section 8 vouchers because they need a new stream of income due to not many people renting. So what the **** am I working for? These hoodrats get to live it up while I live in a studio apt because of the high cost of one bedroom apts.

Phila Housing Authority is placing low incomes ghetto families in luxury apts. Is that fair to people in the $70,000 to $80, 000 salary range?

Paywall

What it all boils down to is these Landlords are going to be in for a rude awakening when these Section 8 hoodrats leave the apartments a wreck because they don't take good care of them. When I delivered electrical supplies, one of the contractors working on renovations to Belmont housing told me of the horrid conditions these "tenants" left the buildings that now had to undergo multimillion dollar renovations, only to get ruined again, and again, and again.

The country needs affordable housing, not more high end apartments.

Ok I got rid of it didnt know that, basically PHA is giving the life of luxury to poor families while someone making $60,000 to $90,000 dont have the same option

I didn't get a paywall. Did anyone read that? Where is Philadelphia coming up with this money? Funding for Section 8 was always low and the article said only 1/4 of those eligible got it, and then I read this later in the article:

That’s because in 2018, PHA got the power to set different rents for vouchers depending on the area. That meant voucher holders were more likely to be able to afford rent for a unit in Chestnut Hill, where a one-bedroom apartment averages $2,350, and not just in neighborhoods like East Germantown, where average rent is far lower.

“Gone are the days you might have expected [us] to pay 80% of the market rate,” said PHA president Jeremiah. “We’re paying 100% of the market rate and, in some instances, because of the amenities, the location, the type of units, and the services being provided to residents, we can go even higher.”

The story is explicity clear, and it is part of Jeremiah's direction, as he says, is to get low income Section 8 renters in more expensive neighborhoods. You want lower rents? That is one way to get them, flood expensive neighborhoods with Section 8 renters. They won't be expensive for long.

First off, if you live in Philadelphia, that's the first problem. Seems like all my life housing has been a problem there. No, I never lived there, but it seems as if it gets reported by the news often enough through the years that I remember it.
But the real issue here is, you have the pride and dignity of being responsible for yourself and paying your own way. If you get a luxury apartment without paying, you will lose that. Maybe it doesn't sound like it's worth it, but later in you life you will realize the true worth of that pride and dignity.

But who the **** wants to work hard and finally get a luxury apt and look at a ghetto ass family in the hallway

Hahaha, hey I get it. Really I do. I had a friend who used to live around there, a place called Vineland, Jersey I think, maybe Delaware. He is gone now for several years actually, but he claimed he could live there and commute to Philly cheaper than he could rent in Philly. Just a thought.
