For reasons known probably only to the Almighty, I was once hired to be Executive Director of a huge social agency with 70 or so full time and part time employees that I had never been a member of and had absolutely no experience or even knowledge of what all it did. I had no executive experience of any kind at the time. The agency was in serious financial trouble and on the verge of closing. I guess the Board felt they had nothing to lose hiring me.
But I did know what it takes to learn and master something, what it takes to succeed and do well. And I was very very good and successful in my job. I knew how to train myself and it wasn't long that I also had experience. I was effective on Day 1 and got better day by day. I not only rescued the agency financially but quadrupled the membership and doubled the physical facility.
No experience, no training are not handicaps when a person brings the right kind of aptitude, attitude, skill sets, and vision to the job, when the person understands what the job is supposed to do for the people. All the appointments so far are with people who have that. They will quickly train themselves. It is enough and, if it turns out the job is not well suited for somebody, Trump will thank them, fire them, and replace them.
