The masks and telecommuting should work the same for flu and COVID as they are both respiratory diseases that transmit the same (or roughly) way. While COVID might be more infectious it's highly doubtful that these measures reduced flu to zero while COVID ran through the population. Im sorry but you have to suspend reason to believe that.
