One need only look at the issue of 'Tenure' in our nations colleges.

I lost my license for a year for speeding when I was young. It was a hard lesson and I've had a clean record since. I rode a bike and took cabs to work. It didn't kill me. Repeat drunk drivers and habitual speeders should have their driving privileges revoked for life. There are many other ways to get around that are actually cheaper than owning a vehicle.

What the law either doesn't understand or doesn't acknowledge is that there are millions of people that drive buzzed or outright drunk that never have an accident as even when drunk they have great self control (I was one of those). However, there are a few that lack this control who are the one that kill people. They are easily identified by repeatedly being arrested for drunk driving. They are the ones who will someday kill or injure others as well as themselves. It's as predictable as tomorrow's sunrise.
