Wow, I guess it didn't dawn on anyone that perhaps, maybe they should have called someone in to confiscate this material? Maybe an arrest or two?

WORLD IN BRIEF / GEORGIA
Car with nuclear cargo denied entry
From Times Wire Reports
June 20, 2007

Georgian customs officers sent a car carrying a mixture of plutonium and beryllium back into Azerbaijan after foiling an attempt to smuggle the materials over the border, Georgian television reported.

Customs officials found the materials, which can be used in nuclear bombs, in what appeared to be a routine check as the car was driven over the border from Azerbaijan, the Imedi television station reported.

"Georgian customs detected a high level of radiation," Imedi reported.

Care

Not to mention on the doorstep of radical Islam. Not a good thing.

On the up side, they weren't trying to cross into the U.S. from Canada. They would have probably made that crossing without much concern or effort.

Well at least they were checking for radioactive stuff, most of our ports of entry do not do that high tech stuff yet.
