This didn't age well

I remember when Trump promised us a great new health care plan in two weeks. Its been five years.
We have Obamacare and those glorious promises of utopia from its legislation. You remember that. you are skewering Trump. The promises of that care from the progressives are costing people a lot of money.

It's not their money so they don't care.

Not as easily as their parents
I'm a young adult and have done very well financially. There are too many young people not willing to work hard to afford the better things in life.

Coming from a good family helps. A 'Head Start' helps but it is hardly the only answer. You can go to any Happy Hour that caters to 'Business Casual' types and find Loser after Loser in them. All with College Degrees, many of them former athletes, alll hanging out at the place trying hard to find a soft, cushy spot to land. You know the word...... Networking :disbelief:

OTOH, I personally know people who had a rough upbringing but worked hard at what they did. One buddy of mine was an electrician. Got tired of the 8-hour day, and went and bought a Van and went out on his own. Last I heard he had 40 Vans and 100 Employees. That was before the slow-down.

Another Pal of mine was/is a mechanic. A good one. He worked hard every day until he found a Shop owner wanting to retire. So my buddy bought the business and the former owner 'carried the paper'. He owns it outright now. Dragging down somewhere in the neighborhood of a half-mill. probably :dunno: Comes and goes as he pleases while his Shop Foreman looks after everything. Last I heard he was looking at a 50' Donzi. At least I think it's a Donzi. And the 50' thing depends on how you measure it.... At the waterline or overall. But, he likes his Go-Fast Boats where I prefer a fishing-style boat. More Sea Worthy, easier to take care of. whatev

Point being, there are opportunities galore out there and you don't even have to ruin your life and your health to take advantage of them

I agree

Young people today are too damned lazy to buy a $500,000 house

I remember when Obama told people their healthcare premums would be cheaper than their cell phone bill.

Turns out people's healthcare premuums are approaching mortgage status. You were duped

ACA insured more people without any appreciative growth in insurance spending regardless of how many anecdotes are mentioned. Here is the actual data. I added the red line to represent constant growth since 1980. As you can see... pretty much a straight line of growth. If you look at the number of insured it is way higher since the ACA.
