Pissing off the entire world isn't a good plan if "national security" is the end goal. We can likely expect more terroristic actions taken on America soil in the coming months or years.

The problem with prosecuting people for the fraud we are uncovering is twofold.

One, proving white collar crime is really really hard. It's called a "what happened" crime. Things like Murder are easier, and fall under the "who did it" category of crime. the Concept of murder is easy to explain to a jury, you just have to prove the person did it. For fraud not only do you have to prove the person did it, you have to prove what they did was actually fraud.

2nd, you better have a rock solid case, and find a jury somewhere that isn't a Dem stronghold, because failure sets up the cries of "it's all a political hatchet job"
