"Third assassination attempt" says Trump supporting sheriff. Then releases man.

It was a Trump superfan, a sovcit. Hence the kid-glove treatment.

He wasn't after anyone. He just assumed he was allowed to haul his gun collection anywhere. In California. So now he's got some firearms charges.

Yes, it's either he wasn't trying to assassinate Trump... or he was and Trump supporters thought he was so much of a risk that they let him go.

Note to the loser, judges set the bond amount, not the sheriff. I just want to know why the US Marshalls didn't take him into custody.

.
It will probably take you a week to figure it out, you dumb hillbilly traitor.

"In California, it is unconstitutional for you to remain jailed solely because you cannot afford to bail out. There must be clear and convincing evidence that your detention is necessary to protect public safety."

So, in order for them to keep him in on bail, someone had to present clear and convincing evidence that detention was necessary.

Shouldn't be too difficult for a dude who they are saying was going off to assassinate one of the US presidential candidates, should it?

The dude at Trump's gold course in Florida didn't get bail because he was considered a flight risk and a potential threat to the community.

Thanks for proving my point, but the dude had firearms, forged credentials and forged documents. No bail should have been a no brainer. But it is commiefornia, so it was 500 to a bondsman and God speed. They just loves themselves some criminals.

.

And that little factoid is relevant — how?
I really wish the site hadn't disabled being able to follow a thread all the way back to it's origin.

I mentioned this as a possible explanation as to why they perhaps didn't view him as a threat, although this is not what I believe:

The sheriff in Riverside County relayed this to Epoch Times, who has the report:

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested an armed man who allegedly said he wanted to “kill the president” outside the perimeter of a Trump rally on Oct. 12, Sheriff Chad Bianco told The Epoch Times in a text message on Sunday.

The rally was held in the city of Coachella in Southern California, 130 miles east of Los Angeles.
“We arrested a man trying to get in the perimeter with two firearms who ended up saying he was going to kill the president,” Bianco said in the text.

Further details of the California arrest were not immediately available.

Another man, an Iraqi national, who was singled out as a “hit” by police dogs trained to identify explosives, was also turned away from the event, Bianco said.

Doesn't really prove your point. Clearly in California this guy could have been placed in prison with no bail. The law says so IF they think he's a threat.

"Bianco, a Trump supporter who has said, ‘It’s time we put a felon in the White House,’ and has been rumored to be planning a run for governor of California in 2026, also suggested at the press conference that his agency likely stopped a third attempt on Trump’s life. "

Could it not be that this guy, Bianco, just wanted to take the praise for stopping an assassination on Trump?

"Miller, a registered Republican with a master’s degree from UCLA, told the Southern California News Group that he was surprised he was arrested and called the sheriff’s assassination accusations “complete bull—t.” "

So, this guy gets let out, doesn't come up with much in the way of craziness, just says it's "bullshit"

"Despite the sheriff’s insinuations about Miller’s intentions and political leanings, federal authorities have not pressed any charges, nor do they believe the former president was in any danger. "

And the thing here is that the feds are on high alert. After the first attempt where Trump got shot at, why would they release this guy?

"While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing. "

So the feds didn't even get involved.

The only person saying it was an assassination attempt is some guy who wants to run for California governor. Hmmm...

It's so easy to con a Red Hat.

Republicans of course will continue to push the lie that there was an ‘assassination attempt.’

Meh....letting him go was pretty stupid. Doesn't matter what his politics are. His actions meet the criteria for attempted assassination.

Not illegal ones you fuckin' genius.

all his were legal as far as I can see. Now, what's illegal about a shotgun and a few handguns? He would have failed miserably because he would have to get too close to take the shot with any accuracy.

No they don't don't. Until he enters the area he is breaking zero laws. I thought you MAGAts supported the 2nd Amendment as well as the 1st A.

Don't get me wrong, I'm positively ebullient that Trump's personal security has clearly improved.

But word has it that the guy is out on bail for $5K.

With a court date of 1/2/2025.

WTF???

Absolutely disgusting.

I'm so sure that if this were Biden or Kackles, it would be the exact same situation.

RIGHT?

Miller is believed to be a member of a rightwing anti-government organization, according to Bianco, and was plotting to kill Trump.

He has a UCLA Masters degree, and in 2022 ran for Nevada State assembly, the newspaper reported.

Most right wingers are anti government
How could ya not be ...have you seen our federal government.

Didn't they say that about the last 2

Who said anyone was cool with that law? If he was arrested in New York, it would be the same thing. Laws against magazine capacity are unconstitutional, but until the courts rule it as such, don't do the crime, if you can't do the time, as Baretta once said!

All the MAGA cult members are cheering his arrest for the mere act of having a loaded gun and high cap magazine, and some are even whining about him getting out on bail.

because he did nothing to warrant such an action. He was arrested for having a loaded gun and a high cap magazine.

Why do you hate the 2nd?

These types of events are good in that we get to see people's true color.

Sounds like a SovCit who forgot he was going to a controlled situation. Oops.
