"Third assassination attempt" says Trump supporting sheriff. Then releases man.

Don't get me wrong, I'm positively ebullient that Trump's personal security has clearly improved.

But word has it that the guy is out on bail for $5K.

With a court date of 1/2/2025.

WTF???

Absolutely disgusting.

I'm so sure that if this were Biden or Kackles, it would be the exact same situation.

RIGHT?
Registered Republican! But aren’t they all? :dunno:

You people always bite on everything that bobs and run with it. It would be laughable it it weren't so darned pathetic. Bunch of freakin muppets...

Pretty much 100% of the initial reports were technical falsehoods.

Apparently the guy is suing the police department now, as he should.

There is nowhere enough information other than to guess right now.

Perhaps if you think the sheriff lied about what the guy was arrested for. State gun charges and they said the guy had multiple passports in different names. Those would be federal felonies.

.

You didn't read your own link. It says federal custody, dumbass! He was never in federal custody.

I said:
So you're saying Marshalls don't pick up and transport federal prisoners and the guy shouldn't have been held for federal investigation?

.
You said?
.No, they usually don't. The Federal Bureau of Prisons do. US Marshalls usually track down escaped prisoners and provide security for the federal court.

Just heard a news report that this guy denies he wanted to kill Trump and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Feds will not prosecute him at all.

Stop digging bubba.

Still can't read. They move prisoners from. Federal facilities when charged with federal crimes. He wasn't, so why are you being stupid?

I saw an episode of Seized at the Border just last night. They caught a guy wanted for murder in Chicago and guess who picked him up, yep, US Marshalls. The guy was wanted for a State crime. GO FREAKING FIGURE.

He was a fugitive because he was wanted in Chicago. He was not in Illinois, which makes it a federal issue. That makes a difference you know.

bu but but, you said:

At that point he hadn't been charged with anything federal, they just transported him to a local jail pending extradition. They might have filed interstate flight charges when he was booked, but they didn't show any of that.

He was a fugitive. That makes it the US Marshall's business. What part of that don't you get? Unless he was arrested and convicted, there are no interstate flight charges if he didn't know there was any attempt to arrest him.

I have a family member that was a convicted felon. He was actually arrested by the US Customs Service and held in a county jail under a federal warrant. He was tried in federal court and sent back to the county jail to await transport to federal prison. The Bureau of Prisons transported him to Oklahoma City and then to his federal prison where he served 5 years. When he was released, he had to report to the local US Marchall's office for his probationary period. He served ten years' probation and had several US Marshalls as probation officers.

I guess we can rely on the feds to be consistently inconsistent, I've seen other instances, on the same program, where people had State level felony warrants and the local sheriff picked them up from the port of entry. BTW there is a federal law, interstate flight to avoid prosecution. That would apply to the first guy, he had been hiding in Mexico for 3 years.

Shame, no one has tried to kill them! Wonder why?
