Got my food in a plastic tray with a plastic lid. My drink in a plastic lined paper cup with a plastic lid.

But they gave me a paper straw

So much for saving the planet eh?

I remember when plastic straws were only provided with milkshakes.

When I worked at the Tastee-Freeze as a kid the manager would raise hell if you provided a plastic straw with a soda due to their cost over paper straws.

If memory serves both were Fort Howard products which was the go-to for most restaurant paper products back then.

I cut many a side out of a waxed paper milkshake cup.
