Little history lesson for you, Sparky.
Hitler ran his campaign based on socialism, because the German people were decimated by the global economic collapse in 1930.
And maintained a semblance of socialism after being named chancellor in 1933, but he blamed the Reichstag fire on communist insurgents and used that excuse to push his position into full dictatorship. He started arresting anyone he considered a communist, the brownshirts were allowed to run amok and beat up and intimidate Hitler's enemies. That's how it worked, and Trump seems to be following the same path.
