There is NO need for a Federal Minimum wage...

The key is to gain a degree in a desired field and be willing to walk away....no two weeks notice...24 hours and bug bye. Then walk into a higher paying job. Loyalty is no longer important not is it acceptable in today's climate. It's only about the paycheck and survival. Be flexible, stay single, focus on your career. The keys to success here. Times have changed.

The argument is over 15 dollars per hour which is the lower end of lower class pay. You offer me that don't expect hard work. The time is coming where workers can tell their lousy I'll begotten employers big bye without so much as a wink. When employers are hurting to find decent workers things are good.
AND that is so true!
Why did Amazon go to $15.00/hour? Hard time to find good workers who were slaving away for Bezo's Billions!

And that is OK by me!

Higher Market demand always is better than higher Market supply.
So you have no problem with raising minimum wages in strong economic times

If we tried to raise minimum wage in a poor economic climate, you would claim employers can’t afford it
tax cut economics are worthless if they don't cover raises.

There are none....they just keep the money

that seems to be the case in federal Government.

could the postal box fleet, go electric by executive order?

I believe they are independent

A two week notice should be illegal. 48 hours is more than enough time. It has never been easier to find highly qualified workers to fill any position. Employers have it easier than ever before to find and hire some of the hardest working individuals this nation has ever produced.

If Amazon doesn't convince our government to increase the federal minimum wage, how else are they expected to force small businesses to close?

we have to lose low wage jobs in our first world economy anyway. small business will have to become more efficient or suffer from structural disemployment.

our first world economy can never compete on cheap labor with the less developed world.

We saw what happened when we slashed taxes on the wealthy and trusted them to raise wages accordingly

We rely on government to regulate labor safety, a 40 hour week, child labor, anti discrimination laws, collective bargaining

When we left Capitalists to their own means, they hired thugs with clubs ab$ chains to beat protesting workers
You have anything more relevant than shit that happened over a century ago?
We tried relying on the good faith of capitalists to treat workers fairly

It didn’t happen ......that is why we have government

Didn't Henry Ford come up with the 40 hour work week and increase his worker's pay so they could buy his cars? Was he the government at that time?

Ford factory workers get 40-hour week - HISTORY
And what about the tens of thousand other employers who demanded more than a 40 hour week?

Unions fought for the 40 hour work week. Government came late to the party and codified what Unions had won.

Where Did the 40-Hour Workweek Come From?

Government didn't protect unions during the Haymarket affair, did it?

The right wing would prefer to abolish unions.

A minimum wage ensures efficient market participation; a simple cost of living adjustment so Labor can afford to contribute to our market based economy, in a fine, capital manner. who should complain, in that case?

ME TOO! I worked in a predecessor of McDonalds in 1961 - 1962 and my hourly wage was $2.00. And I was the boss' nephew!

Wow! That was a lot at the time. The minimum wage was $1.00 per hour when I started bagging groceries in 1960. Since I also received tips, I earned $0.85 per hour. We did really well with tips! 1961 and '62 the minimum wage was $1.25.

Sure didn’t ....that is why there were so few protections of labor in 1886

Once the Government passed laws protecting workers rights......the labor movement took off

He was the boss’ nephew
The rest of the workforce made $1.25

the left wing could raise the minimum wage to raise tax revenue, and afterward decide if we still need to raise more tax revenue.

tax cut economics are unsustainable.
