There are no viable alternatives

At this point in our country's history, we have become widely-divided along two equal polar opposites. There are no feasible alternatives, and there is no middle ground. While the Democrat Party has moved strongly toward cultural Marxism since 2010, the GOP has shifted strongly toward American Nationalism. I cite 2010 as the symbolic starting point, as that was not only during the first term of Barack Obama, that was also the birth of the American Tea Party Movement.

While there have been occasional third-party candidates during Presidential elections, none of them have been proven to be unique or practical. The Ron Paul-style libertarian parties have mostly shared the same core values as the GOP: The US as a Constitutional Republic, personal liberties, the rights of the individual, smaller government, lower taxes, etc. At the same time, what third parties catered to Democrat voters, have generally been left-leaning: The Bernie bros, CPUSA, Green Party, Socialist Party USA, etc.

Now there are some folks who would claim that their own personal political views are a mixture of both ideologies. But the fact is, you are what you vote. Most people vote for one side or the other, or don't vote at all. I'm not saying one shouldn't be allowed to vote for a Vermin Supreme or a Jill Stein, that is God-given Constitutional right. But the fact is, we are basically a two-party system. Some use the term "Uniparty", but that is a fallacy. There are distinct and marked differences between the two parties in this country, even though similarities are occasionally pointed out. But the differences far outweigh the similarities, even to the casual observer or someone not familiar with our form of government.

I myself prefer to be aligned with the American Nationalist side of the political spectrum, or the GOP. That choice is based on 71 years of personal experience, was well as the core values I have chosen. I will say that I was originally a Democrat. My parents were Democrats. My Grandparents were Democrats, as were their parents and Grandparents. But as I grew older, gained more life's experiences, and started paying attention, I noticed the direction the Democrat Party was going. And what it had become even 22 year ago, was 180 degrees out of phase with what I believed in.

And that's my pronunciamento for the day.

Now for the obligatory citation and references, so hopefully this thread won't get flushed. :04:

"This comparison examines the differences between the policies and political positions of the Democratic and Republican parties on major issues such as taxes, the role of government, entitlements (Social Security, Medicare), gun control, immigration, healthcare, abortion, environmental policy and regulation. These two parties dominate America's political landscape but differ greatly in their philosophies and ideals..."

I know McConnell is a necessary evil for now but the sooner he takes his dirt nap or retires the better.

What will need to be done to unfuck what the dems have done is going to take someone made of sterner stuff.
Evil is never necessary....That's part of the reason we have a GOP filled with fucking weaklings.

I vehemently disagree.
Take Trump out of the picture and the GOP is almost as bad as the Jackass in it's own Greedy way.

McConnell is an old throwback dinosaur to the days when Democrats would get together and make racist jokes. He serves no purpose in today's GOP, except to make concessions to the cultural Marxists, and profit from it.

Trump is the GOP. He is what the GOP has secretly desired to be, ever since they started letting the Democrats eat their lunch. What I probably should have said was that those who vote Republican, have shifted to the right. Look how close the 2020 election was. The Democrats in no way won by a landslide. And as for the belief that many Republicans are falling away or disappointed by President Trump, surely they're aware of what a year and a half of Biden has adversely effected them.

And he has a troop of appeasers/collaborationists lined up behind him.

Thune is nearly as big a mealy-mouthed POS weakling as McTurtle, and he's next in line.

The despicable bastards should be called "Republicrats."

Tell us where you disagree with the Democrat Platform which is on the Internet...White Man Bad!
White man bad. Hmmm why would I hate my own race.

I don't see white people as bad. Only bad white people are bad.

Only bad every race is bad.

I see you want to make a strawman.

Do you have something to add, or are you just needing to express your frustration with Biden, by taking it out on someone else? Go take a cold shower or something.
I said the Republicans that got lead by Trump are indeed weak.

Did you miss that?

There is a reason why Republicans can't act like Republicans. The Democrats have induced tens of millions of Americans that Government is the proper source of all sorts of goodies, ALL of which are outside the proper realm of the Federal government. Healthcare, food supplements, educational grants, loans, and subsidies, housing...the list goes on and on.

Any Republican politician who insisted on voting his conscience according to the Constitution would be attacked left and right in the Media for "depriving" people of their rightful goodies. One term wonder. Simple as that.

How so? Trump didn't lead me to believe anything that I already didn't believe. My own political and economic beliefs were already cemented firmly in place, long before he came on the scene.

All Trump did was show me that we shared the same values, spoke to me in terms I could relate to, so I voted for him. Are you so ignorant that you don't believe people know how to make their own choices? Or are you such a scared little rabbit and are afraid that people won't make the choices you demand of them?

Personally, I think it's the second thing. It's all about control, isn't it? You're deathly afraid of losing control, right?
