‘There are a lot of bitter people here, I’m one of them’: rust belt voters on why they backed Trump again despite his broken promises

Well educated people are better able to see through Trump's unachievable promises. They are more likely to be offended by Trump's low class personality and his fourth grade vocabulary.
/----/ How did that 12% advantage work out for Commie Harris and for Hildabeast?
The other problem is that the classification of college educated encompasses alot. There are associate degrees, bachelors, and advanced degrees. Then you have Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts.
It doesn't break it out any further. Maybe democRATs get more grads with a bachelor of arts in underwater basket weaving, while Republicans get the majority of business and economic grads.

Those jobs are not coming back to Youngstown.
Even the people realize it.

Trump makes empty promises and offers them a target for their wrath.
You are suffering because of immigrants
Trump makes their hatred of brown people and gays acceptable again

Trump won't take office for another 6 days. How can you honestly and fairly state those are empty promises? Doesn't he deserve a chance to implement his agenda?

Everyone know that politicians can’t deliver on everything they promise. But Trump will deliver on some.
Trump , like any potus, will need to work with Congress to deliver

Unfortunately , Congress is full of Trump haters that would rather vote against his goals to be able to call him a liar

/----/ Trump learned from his first term and in the last four years. This time it will be different.

Because Trump makes promises that are not within his power to deliver

Cutting $2 trillion from the budget
Deporting tens of millions of immigrants

Ever hear of DOGE? Wait until it kicks in. If it fails, then you can crow about it.

"Deporting tens of millions of immigrants."
He's targeting illegal aliens, and other presidents have done it successfully, like Eisenhower and Obama.

Yes I have heard of DOGE, I would hope that those Trump selected to run it would have a better understanding of our budget and what can be cut and can’t be cut. There is not $2 trillion to be cut.

No, we do not have the capability to deport tens of millions of people. Nor would we want to

Id take 500 Billion in cuts.

And that remains to be seen on the deporting thing.

The block to it will be artificial, the countless lawsuits and the cooperating lefty judges throwing sand into the process.

You can't claim "it isn't working" when your side is doing everything in its power to prevent it from working.

People like Trump and Musk do their production outside the US, but they get elected promising what they can't deliver, nor do they move their production to the US they stop at Mexico.

hands on jobs have been eliminated now for ages, mostly sent to china for cheaper labor and also automation and they are not coming back to places like youngtown ever, just reality
Why do people always come up with CHINA? - because Democrats make you believe their propagated crap about preserving Democracy?
Or some Trump, who is too dumb to differentiate "unfair practices" from "stupid USA" unable to protect it's market and industry?

The vast majority of US products and brand-names manufactured in China - didn't take away existing jobs in the USA and transplanting them to China, but these "new jobs" were and are initiated by Chinese in China - producing for these US companies and their respective world market. Not a single worker from Ford or GM in the USA was ever fired - due to a Chinese working at a Ford or GM plant in China.

An e.g. Ford produced in the USA would be far too expensive to be sold in e.g. China, India, Nigeria or any other 3rd & 2nd world country.
Therefore for US Ford to expand their business into 3rd or 2nd world countries - they NEED to produce in these countries.
E.g. BMW used to sell 25-30,000 units in China - when producing in Germany or the USA. Upon producing in China they are now selling more then 250,000 units/year just alone in China.

And if e.g. Ford produces a Model in China and sells it to the US market, then you need to point your fingers at FORD and not China.

My point is that well educated people are more difficult to fool.
And my point is that well-educated people are more affluent and thus were more likely to escape the consequences of Biden’s policies. That leaves the working class - the largest voting bloc - who were left struggling with unaffordable groceries and rent.

Also, college has really been dumbed down in the last decade or two, with rather mediocre kids going to fourth-tier schools. When I went to college, only the top half (or less) of the high school went to college. When my parents went to college, only the top 10% did.

It would be interesting to remove college grads under 30, which would include the mediocre kids - and then see the breakdown.
