You did it because you were losing the argument and had to try to change the subject.
Now you're just trying to deflect away from the fact that I exposed your assertion as baseless.

The constant talk about paying taxes in percentages is a dodge. Warren Buffet was one of the chief perpetrators when he said many years ago that he paid "less in taxes than his secretary," an offhand statement that was utterly stupid and false.

He pays MILLIONS in taxes, his "secretary" (or the theoretical person he was referring to) paid thousands. He paid a lower PERCENTAGE of his gross income than she did, but that is irrelevant.

We pay our taxes in DOLLARS and not percentages. Elon Musk famously paid ELEVEN BILLION DOLLARS in Federal Income Tax in 2021. I don't give a **** how much he earned, that was too much for any citizen to have to pay. He should not have to pay another dollar in FIT for at least three generations.

While no politician would dare mention this, any FAIR tax regime would have a MAXIMUM TAX, expressed in DOLLARS, an amount acknowledging that this taxpayer has paid ENOUGH. I don't care if its $50,000 (which would be eminently fair) or a million dollars, but at some point, talk of percentages becomes absurd when confronting the actual dollars that are paid.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter whether a taxpayer does his taxes on a postcard or hires an army of lawyers to minimize his taxes, if he obeys the laws, that should be the end of the discussion. Shove your twisted concepts of "fairness" up your ass. Congress likes to ** with the tax code in order to influence public behavior (and that is bullshit), but it is the way our system works. When taxpayers avail themselves of provisions in the Code (referred to by Leftists as "loopholes") they are doing exactly what Congress wanted when they passed that provision. If YOU don't like that someone else benefitted from these provisions, vote for someone else next time. This is how American "democracy" works. The laws are BY DEFINITION, the "will of the people." If you don't like them, ** you.

He paid a lower PERCENTAGE of his gross income than she did, but that is irrelevant.

He didn't. He lied.
