When I see that photo, I see hundreds of young people who know that their country does not offer them a future.

And one reason that their country is so underdeveloped is that the United States had a policy of overthrowing leaders who wanted to modestly limit the interests of American firms in those countries.

Of course, not all the blame can be put on the Americans. Nicaragua overthrew a dictator, and then the revolutionaries then became new dictators. And they are still there.

Like it or not, the photo shows the future of the United States. Demographers tell us this country ceases to be a Caucasian-majority nation around 2050. Sometime in the next century, the most numerous group of people are projected to be Hispanic people, the descendants of the young people we see in that photo.

Yeah, we should have kept the whole country of Mexico after the war, they do have nice beaches. But, Mexico is the one that has shut down the border because the USA is leading the world in Covid rates thus the reason why Canada has done the same.
