The US is a NET EXPORTER, and world's largest producer, of oil and gas.

So why do certain people keep babbling on about the US not being energy self sufficient and blaming high prices on (lack of) domestic production?

Are you not ashamed of such a ludicrous post?

All of your "sources" are forecasts dated back in AUGUST 16, 2021. Due to the policies of this massively failed administration of President Biden reversed course on day one when he took office.

Why am I not surprised that you're not able to do the simple adds and minuses of nonprojected data? Also, you realize that "day one" for Biden came before August 2021, yes?

Fact: Starting from almost the same amount of US oil production upon taking office, Biden increased US oil production by 31 percent in his first year while Trump only increased production by 21 percent.

Fact: Saudi Arabia is exporting less oil today than during the pandemic.

Fact: Oil companies are deliberately slow walking their production in order to keep profits as high as possible.

Fact: Joe Biden has approved far more public land leases for oil drilling than Trump did.

But, you know, Fox Fake News knows the rubes are too stupid to find this out for themselves and they will parrot "Because Biden!" because it feels good to be wrong and reading is hard!

And fails to show that our output in fossil fuels was twice what it is now in 2019!

WHEN 'THE DONALD' WAS PRESIDENT!!

At risk of being banned from any conversation with you, here is a bit of info on the subject.

Each area produces different oil. For instance, The US and Canada produces a broad spectrum from poor quality heavy crude all the way to sweet crude. Meanwhile, the Middle East produces mostly sweet crude. But Russia as well as Venzuella produces heavy crude mostly.

The uses of each "Weight" of oil goes from lubricants to plastics to fuels. Almost any of them can be used but it's more economical to use the proper weight. The problem is, if you use a higher weight you take away some of the oil for something else. In this case, using the lighter weights oil for the lower weights oil drives up the fuel prices. If it were the other way around, it would be driving up plastic prices. In reality, it drives up both.

The problem isn't that there isn't enough oil. The problem is, there isn't enough refineries available of the proper types. There is anough refineries but it takes time to convert them to the needs. Normally, the winter refinery is for the plastics and the lower grades. The Summer Refineries, from the same refineries, produce fuels. They over produce and store them. In the winter, we are operating off of the storage tanks. Not long ago, they couldn't give stored crude away and had refined fuel tanks in excess. We are headed into a time period where the tanks are going to be nearing empty for fuels and the prices go up. The problem is, the winter heavy crude refining has turned into a nightmare and the US and Canada doesn't have enough of the proper crude for refining.

Today, we have to ask ourselves, do we want to do business with Venzuella, Iran or Russia. All 3 have the proper weight of crude we need for refining for production reasons. But either way, it's going to take about 6 months to change away from Russia to anything else. Although I think Venzuella should be drenched in hot oil, it's my choice of all 3.

Make sure to bend your knees when you lift that goal post. Otherwise you'll hurt yourself.

More oil was being produced in Dec 2019 than today. FACT.
